According to Deadline, Rob is involved in producing a new film with Lance Oppenheim. As with Possession, there are rumours Rob may also star, but we will have to wait for confirmation of that aspect. Rob is a busy busy bee which is what we like to hear. From Deadline:
Veteran documentary filmmaker Lance Oppenheim (Ren Faire) is pivoting to fiction with his next project, Primetime, which will be financed and produced by A24, with Robert Pattinson among the producers.
While not much is known about the film’s genre or plot, it’s said to follow a journalist who takes on an underworld of crime and changes television forever. We’ve heard from multiple sources that the project takes inspiration from To Catch a Predator, the NBC program put on as part of Dateline, as well as its host Chris Hansen, though the studio wouldn’t confirm. Sources also had Pattinson attached to star, though others clarified that there’s no deal in that respect for the moment. Stay tuned.
The Drama director, Kristoffer Bogli, posted the photo below on his IG story today – excitement. Seems the film is in production.
20 October 2024
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Alana Haim has lined up two back to back feature gigs involving some bold-faced names.” What is interesting is that they have confirmed that Rob will start in The Drama with Zendaya:
“Haim has started production on The Mastermind, an art heist drama starring Josh O’Connor and directed by Kelly Reichardt. She will then jump into The Drama, a feature from Dream Scenario filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli that also stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.”
According to IMDB, filming is rumoured to commence on Monday 21 October 2024 with filming locations in Singapore, Tokyo, London, Paris and Boston. As we know, I’m not going to get excited until we actually see or hear that Rob is on set, but Zendaya is most definitely in Boston.
Zendaya was photographed on Newbury Street in Back Bay earlier this week, reportedly in Boston to film a new movie with Robert Pattinson. https://t.co/WcCQZEsXfz
“Mamoudou Athie is in final talks to join the ensemble of A24 and Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama, with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson on board to star. Borgli will direct from a script he wrote. Alana Haim is also in talks to join the cast.”
Parker Finn spoke to THR in relation to his latest release Smile 2 and had this to say about the proposed remake of Possession:
“I mentioned The First Omen and Immaculate earlier, and neither of those films were shy about their Possession homages. There’s that parallel inspiration again. So are you really going to take a crack at remaking Possession?
It wouldI take somebody out of their mind to remake Possession, and I think I might be just the guy.”
I can see why Rob may be interested in producing this film and possibly have a role as well. Fingers crossed.
Elle Magazine had Suki Waterhouse telephone prank family and friends and she pranked Rob that she had been asked to host “Love is Blind” and that it would be a good idea for him to co-host with her. See Rob’s reaction below – gold as always (Rob starts at 8.12 where the video below should start).
Pattinson: “Hey, darling. Did you call me brother?”
Waterhouse clarified the pet name mix-up, then launched into the gag. “You know that show Love Is Blind?”
“Yeah,” Pattinson replied.
“I just got offered to be the host for Love Is Blind,” Waterhouse said of the series, which is hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey in the U.S. and Matt and Emma Willis in the U.K. “Isn’t that so cool?”
But Pattinson might not know Love Is Blind after all. “Which one is Love Is Blind again?” he asked.
“We watched it a while ago,” Waterhouse responded. “They’re like, ‘Oh, are you my type? Are you my type?’ It’s quite deep, though. I feel like it’s a sociological experiment that’s actually quite beautiful.” (It remains unclear whether or not Pattinson actually remembers watching Love Is Blind — for all we know, he could have been distracted while exploding his microwave or rehearsing his next ridiculous movie voice.)
Pattinson did not seem enthused by Waterhouse’s announcement. “That’s interesting,” he said tepidly. “What an interesting turn of events.”
Waterhouse reiterated her excitement about the opportunity. “I just feel like it would be quite a good thing to do,” she said. “They were saying we could do it together as well, which I thought could actually be quite good.”
But the thought of being a part of the Love Is Blind equation was too much for the Lighthouse actor. “Darling, have you gone mad?” he asked.
“Don’t you think it would be quite good for us? It would be great for you,” Waterhouse replied, stifling a laugh.
“Are you joking? Is this whole thing a joke?” Pattinson inquired.
“Yeah,” she revealed.
Pattinson breathed a sigh of relief. “I was like, ‘If you think it’s right for you…'” he said.
“I know, you’re so sweet. I love you. Thank you,” Waterhouse responded.
That’s when it dawned on Rob: “Wait, I’m not on some TV show, am I?”
Waterhouse reassured him, “No, you’re not on TV, no,” before adding, “You are gonna be on the internet, though.”
