Well Rob is sunshine every day, but seeing as it’s Saturday đ A few beautiful faves…
How delightfulĂ wasĂ Rob the interviewer – cheeky guy. Ă Rob’s always full of surprises. Ă Speaking of surprises, lovely to see those Evening StandardĂ photoshoot pics in that glorious size. Ă Have honestly been waiting almost 6 years for that. Ă We kicked off the week with those beautiful portraits from 2010 and the New York “Remember Me” promo and the Cannes portraits. Ă Funnily enough in my travels last week I bookmarked the fact that I found the Remember Me Bluray had just been released in Carmel’s favourite part of the world “Austria“. Ă Not sure if it’s first time or just that it’s back in stock but it was included in “New Releases”. Ă And we ended the week with the lovely Le Grand Journal pics from 2014. Ă In movie news: Ă MAPS TO THE STARS: Ă I reminded you all that Norway was releasing Maps to the Stars on DVD. Ă LIFE: Ă I’ve added the Thailand release date again as I posted it a few hours after I finalised last week’s review. Ă So I’m just popping it in this one in case you missed it. Ă Turkey gave us a new poster and Pinema added it to their website and confirmed that 25 September is most definitely the release date. Ă eOne Benelux also now has a dedicated “Life” page. Ă And Mexico got their premiere with Anton Corbijn yesterday. Ă I retweeted lots of tweets from @giffmx. Ă We had a fewĂ interviews where Anton talked Rob and I get where he’s coming from in his choice of Rob. Ă I’ll add to that post as more come through. Ă I also started the international review roundup given that some of the Mexican reviews trickled through. Again, I’ll update that post as and when they come through.Ă Ă QUEEN OF THE DESERT: Ă Poland and Indonesia now have release dates, but the US seems toĂ have pushed back it’s release to later this year or early 2016. Ă And thanks to @QueenFilmFan who noticed that Switzerland no longer has a release date and that Ascot Elite (Distributor)Ă has also removed QotD from their website. Ă We now know who the distributor for Greece is which I guessĂ is a good sign -Ă it’s the same one as for LIFE, but still no release date for either. Ă Also the Russian distributor, Top Film, now has a dedicated page for the film on their website. Ă And whilst I’m talking QotD and LIFE -Ă @deesoonz tweeted me a link to an article about Transmission films partnering withĂ Sony who will distribute TransmissionââŹâ˘s titles both physical & digital formats for home ent market Aus/NZĂ from 1 October 2015. Ă So that’s great for us Aussies/Kiwis. Ă THE ROVER: Ă Loads of tweets coming out of Japan for the release on Saturday. Ă YouĂ can seeĂ them all at @dakkansha but I did tweet a link to all theatres screening the film. Ă It looks like most are loving the film – no surprise really. Ă LOST CITY OF Z: Ă Now has a distributor in Brazil for whenever it gets released in 2016 *fingers crossed*. Ă Hoping we hear some news re filming for LCoZ next week. Ă August is just around the corner. Ă Before I go I’d like to thank you all for the birthday wishes – I felt very spoilt. Ă Thanks Michelle, Vertigo, Suze and Jules for your spectacular birthday wishes which render me speechless – a hard task let me tell you. Ă Again, thanks everyone. Ă Just remembered that Venice Film Festival is announcing its lineup on Wednsday – fingers crossed that we see The Childhood of a Leader on the list. Ă Until next week … surely we should get a LIFE trailer … surely
