Nothing really all that new here, but I know we love to read any mention about Rob’s upcoming projects & these 2 I cannot wait for đ
James Grey mentions The Lost City Of Z in an interview from Crave Online:
Speaking of moving on: The Lost City of Z (a period adventure film, concerning British surveyors looking for a city in the jungles of Brazil; Z was set up to be made with Brad Pitt back in 2004) appears to be ready to film (with Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Pattinson). Do you have a start date?
WeââŹâ˘ll begin filming in January. IââŹâ˘m going to start prepping in September. ItââŹâ˘s a very elaborate film and requires extensive prep. WeââŹâ˘re going to shoot in two different countries. ItââŹâ˘s going to be a very challenging, but hopefully rewarding shoot.
YouââŹâ˘ve been close to making Z a few times, what type of film can we expect? Has it changed in scope over the past decade?
I want to ask the same question with each film, which is: what does it mean to be a human being? The Lost City of Z is almost set on two different planets ââŹâ the jungle and Victorian England. What does it mean to be a civilized person? This to me is a profound question. What is progress? Is progress just economic growth? Or is it understanding whatââŹâ˘s around us? Is it growth of emotional intelligence or GDP growth? How do we contemplate new and old ideas of humanity? That to me is what Z is about.
The Childhood Of A Leader from Deadline:
Binoche also stars in CorbetââŹâ˘s The Childhood Of A Leader in late fall with Robert Pattinson and Tim Roth. For Sils Maria, his interaction with the actress created ââŹĹthis kind of meta thing that Olivier appreciates,ââŹÂ he says of his friend.
The WME-repeed Corbet tells me Childhood Of A Leader is about a little boy who relocates to France with his family in 1919. His father is a political advisor to Woodrow Wilson about seven months in the run up to the Treaty of Versailles. He calls it, ââŹĹMy version of a horror film. Instead of being possessed by a demon, the little boy is possessed by notions of the era.ââŹÂ
Ooooh May according to this latest update. Cannot wait to hear more news. Thanks to Production Weekly:
Updated: Production Weekly have updated their listing & are now saying July as the status. ĂÂ Hmmm looks like we’ll just have to wait & see.

This chilling fable about the rise of fascism in the 20th Century tells the story of a young American boy living in France in 1918 whose father is working for the US government on the creation of the Treaty of Versailles. What he witnesses helps to mold his beliefs ââŹâ and we witness the birth of a terrifying ego. Loosely inspired by the early childhood experiences of many of the great dictators of the 20th century and infused with the same sense of dread as The Others and The Omen, (The) Childhood Of a Leader is an ominous portrait of emerging evil.

According to Cinando both films are listed to be included at the Cannes Film Market – makes sense.ĂÂ Won’t surprise me if Life and QoTD will be there also lookingn for distributors #KingofCannes.ĂÂ I have to admit though I’m still a little nervous about LCoZ since both films are due to film in June. ĂÂ I know they are supporting roles not leads so it’s possible he can do both, I guess time will tell.

According to the site Crew United,ĂÂ Rob’s character name is Charles in The Childhood of A Leader and it’s scheduled to film between June and August 2014.ĂÂ Interesting … very very interesting.ĂÂ I’m guessing [SR] next to his name stands for “supporting role”.

I bloody well hope so.ĂÂ According to Cafe Bilingue’s Facebook:
“Child casting cinema for Brady Corbet, THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER’s first film, produced by the British company Unanimous Entertainment, we are looking for: A little boy between 6 and 9 years, bilingual in French and in English, to play the lead role.
To participate in the casting, please send photos and contact information … his parents will be played by Juliette Binoche and Tim Roth.
The film will turn this summer.”
And Sue, Cindy or Carmel even if you get Jules to work her magic on the photos you submit when you turn up they’ll realise you are not a little boy between 6 and 9 lol.
