The Childhood of a Leader will screen at the Dubai International Film Festival as part of Cinema of the World, at a date to be confirmed, but the festival runs from 9 to 16 December 2015.Will update once we know more.
“The chilling feature debut ‘The Childhood of a Leader’ from director Brady Corbet, starring Liam Cunningham and Robert Pattinson is an unsettling portrait of emerging evil. Set in France in 1918, the film tells the tale of the terrifying influence of fascism in an unsure world. After witnessing his father help shape the Treaty of Versailles, ‘The Childhood of a Leader’ follows a young boy’s chilling rise from impressionable child to the cruel and calculating leader he will become.”

From Magazine HD:
“Room and The Childhood of a Leader, destribuÃdos by NOS, will compete in LEFFEST as part of the official selection. … The Childhood of a Leader , in turn, is the first feature film signed by Brady Corbet and with the participation of Robert Pattinson and Bérénice Bejo.”
Hopefully NOS will also distribute the film in Portugal some time in 2016 *fingerscrossed*.  Recently they’ve distributed “Life” and “Maps to the Stars”, so clearly they are big Rob fans.
I think we can safely assume that the reference to “September” is just a typographical error given that 12, 13 and 14 November 2015 are Thursday, Friday &Â Saturday. Â The film is in official competition as we posted here,
Lisbon Screening on Friday 13 November 2015 at 9.30 pm
Estoril Screenings: Thursday 12 November at 4.00 pm
Â
Saturday 14 November 2015 at 4.00pm
Tickets are usually available from the cinemas screening the films, FNAC and Ticketline. Â I’ll update this post with links as soon as I can.
Update: Â 28 October 2015
Click here for ticket prices and information.  Tickets for The Childhood of a Leader will be €7 and are on sale from 31 October at the Monumental Cinema, Nimas Area TNDMII, FNAC and Estoril Casino from November 6.
UPDATE: 6 November 2015
Looks like the first Estoril screening on 12 November 2015 has been removed.  Maybe that was just a media screening *shrugs*.  In any event, it appears there are now only 2 screenings during the Festival - Lisbon on Friday 13 September 2015 at 9.30 pm and Estoril on Saturday 14 September 2015 at 4.00 pm

I am liking very much that this film is being included at a lot of film festivals. Â It gives me hope that we may see it at the Sydney Film Festival in June 2016. Â Fingers crossed Aussies. Â The festival runs from 6 to 14 November 2015. Â Here is what we know so far from SEFF ’15 website:
“The award for best new director in Venice and a spectacular cast endorse debut conducting the young actor Brady Corbet ( Funny Games , Melancholy ), with the British film The childhood of a leader . The SEFF Spain will host the premiere of this film starring faces as popular as Robert Pattinson, Berenice Bejo ( The Artist ), Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones ) and Stacy Martin ( Nymphomaniac ). With music by Scott Walker, the story is set in post-World War I period and is based on the childhood experiences of some of the most fearsome dictators of the twentieth century.” [My emphasis]
More information to come.
