I saw this little bit of news last night, but I wasn’t sure whether it was part of the Sofia International Film Festival.  A little more info came to light this morning and now I see that it is the 14th Sofia Film Festival by the Sea (or “On the Beach” as the Adriana Buedvska likes to call it).  The Festival runs from 17 to 25 March and The Childhood of a Leader has a screening on 23 March 2016 at 8.00 pm.  Tickets will be available from the Adriana Buedvska Cinema or in front of the hall immediately before the screening.  Regular ticket prices are 7 lev, maps, with 20 tickets – 100 lev; with 10 tickets – 60 lev.

Am sure you remember we posted here about the special screening of TCOAL in Lisbon presented by Brady, well now we have a video from the screening.  I just love listening to Brady talk, so interesting, what a lovely & talented man he is.  Enjoy, I most definitely did.

How bloody brilliant for the UK & Ireland – August is not that far away really.  Eclusively from Screendaily:

“Metrodome Distribution has acquired Brady Corbet’s mystery-drama The Childhood Of A Leader for all UK and Ireland rights from Protagonist Pictures.

Metrodome is due to release theatrically in August 2016.

….

In The Childhood Of A Leader an American family settles into the French countryside at the end of the First World War, where the father (Liam Cunningham) is involved in the peace negotiations around the Treaty of Versailles. His wife (Bérénice Bejo) is a devout Christian who struggles with the tantrums of their defiant young son, whose wilful outbursts begin to demonstrate a monster in the making.

Edwards described the film as “one of the finest, most compelling and exciting debuts in years.””

It really is a once in a lifetime experience.  Shame Rob couldn’t be there for it, but I really admire Brady. He is so humble it’s no wonder he is friends with Rob.

Brady goes into detail about how The Childhood of a Leader came about.  He mainly talks about cast changes, difficulties of getting it off the ground and how he approached Scott Walker.  Lol Brady I thought I was the only person who always stumbled on the word “synthesizers”. I agree though he must be so tired.  I liked at the end they said – you have more interviews to do.  So I’m off to try and find them.  BTW no Rob mention.
