Italia Film Middle East confirmed to me today that Queen of the Desert will be released in ALL of the Middle East, that is, Lebanon, Jordan, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Iraq on 31 March 2016.  That’s brilliant news.  You should check out their trailer below.

I know that TAJ Cinemas Jordan and is still showing 7 April as is Grand Cinemas Lebanon, but they should update their schedules soon – so stay tuned!  The release date is definitely 31 March 2016.
We have posted previously that Pocket Theatre (San Miguel) has screened Queen of the Desert in February.  It now looks like they are having 3 more screenings on Sunday 27 March 2016:

Queen of the Desert 2015 BIO-DRAMA-HISTORY USA,MOROCCO,128m
Dir: Werner Herzog Starring: James Franco, Nicole Kidman, Damian Lewis
A true story of the life of British explorer and adventurer, Gertrude Bell, Queen of the Desert chronicles her journeys of love and loss in the Middle East during the early 20th century. A curious and adventurous young woman eager to explore the world outside of England, Gertrude Bell goes to the British embassy in Tehran where she quickly falls in love with a secretary of the embassy, Henry Cadogan. This sparks the beginning of a life-long adventure among the beautiful but misunderstood peoples and cultures of the Middle East. Along the way, her path intersects with archaeologist T.E. Lawrence also known as Lawrence of Arabia, and Major Charles Doughty-Wylie, the British Consul General in the Ottoman Empire. The story details the extraordinary adventures of Bell wrestling with the conflicts of love and tragedy, enemy and friend, and foreign and familiar as she sought to understand and unify people from different cultures. “
I haven’t watched any of the YA movies since Twilight, so I can’t comment about Allegiant or The Hunger Games, but Rolling Stone magazine, however, did a write up “Allegiant Fail Why YA Movies Dying is Bad for Everyone” and mentioned Robert Pattinson in their article.
“Bella Swan and Edward Cullen may live forever in the supposed bliss of a deathless union, but the genre they jumpstarted has proven to be decidedly mortal. …
If Hollywood failed to heed what YA movies say about the perils of conformity, the stars of said movies have taken those lessons to heart, charting bold careers that exist in defiance of what might have been expected for them. …
And then there’s Robert Pattinson. The squeal-inducing supernova at the center of the YA galaxy has inarguably taken the most aggressive turn towards unconventional fare; some actors subvert their image, but Patterson [sic] has torpedoed his. Since first collaborating with David Cronenberg for the director’s characteristically deranged Cosmopolis, Pattinson has played a mentally challenged guy in a gnarly post-apocalyptic Western (The Rover), a fuckboy limo driver (Maps to the Stars), and Lawrence of Arabia (Queen of the Desert). Each of these films has found the actor pushing closer towards greatness and further away from his original fans; if we’re lucky, perhaps he’ll take some of those fans with him.”
There’s no “perhaps” I’m in.
Robert Pattinson “Queen of the Desert” is listed as coming soon on SF Anytime which is currently available in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.  Given that the film is out on DVD in early April (check out dates on our Film page) and already available on DVD in Denmark (as I just posted), no surprise it will be on VOD soon.
In the meantime, you can watch the following Rob films: Life, Maps to the Stars, Little Ashes, Water For Elephants and Cosmopolis.  Click on SFAnytime for the links:
