Little Ashes will have its premiere in Ireland before the people in the States (and poor Australians….especially) get to see it. It must be the luck of the Irish! This movie will be shown at the 9th Belfast Film Festival on the 26th of March (first day of the festival) at 7:30 pm. To check out all the details, click here.
Thank you to lovely Kate for all the info, and I really hope that you will get to go and see it!
According to The Official Little Ashes website, the release date for the film has been changed from March to May.
Taken from their website:
Regent Releasing is pleased to announce the theatrical opening of “Little Ashes”
in select U.S. theaters beginning May 8th, 2009
Although this news is disappointing for the U.S fans (after looking forward to March for so long) I know that it will be well & truly worth the wait for them.  From the various clips I have seen, Little Ashes looks like such a beautiful film with fantastic performances by all the actors. When I think about the day when all us Aussie fans will be able to see the film, it makes me feel so excited. I cannot wait for that day to come.

The Official Little Ashes website has updated their site with 4 new teaser Clips from the movie.
Teaser Clip 5: Luis and Federico see Dali’s new look
Teaser Clip 6: Bicycle ride in Cadaques
Teaser Clip 7: Magdalena and Federico bump into an aloof Dali (the site say’s Luis instead, which is a mistake)
Teaser Clip 8: Federico Garcia Lorca visits the new Dali in Paris
As someone who has seen the movie (it’s a gorgeous movie, by the way…) I must say that my favourite teaser clip is the bicycle ride. It’s such a romantic scene!
To watch the clips, please Click Here to be directed to their official site. I can’t seem to embed the videos…but once they became available, I will update this post.
Enjoy!
People.com posted a new clip from Little Ashes on their site. I can’t embed the video here, so please click on the picture above to go to their site and watch the video. It was about the first time that Dali met Lorca again, after they were separated for a long time. Dali returned from Paris with his new wife, Gala, and introduced her to Lorca. FYI, Rob puts on a heavy Spanish accent and did a little ‘dance’ on this clip.
The Dish Rag by Elizabeth Snead from LA Times mentioned that there will only be an East Coast Premiere for Little Ashes. The press conference will be held in New York, but the date isn’t confirmed yet. The film will also be shown at the European Film Market Festival (Berlinare), which starts next week, but Robert Pattinson will not be attending.
Anyway, I am jealous of those lucky fans in the States who are able to watch the movie on March 27th (not that long to go..) which is actually the same date that Kristen Stewart’s movie, Adventureland, is going to open. Which one are you going to see first?

Robert Pattinson Channels Artist Salvador DalÃ
Twilight star Robert Pattinson can’t always play a vampire heartthrob.
In his next movie, Little Ashes, set in 1922 and described by Variety as an “arty Bohemian romp,” the London-born actor, 22, plays Spanish surrealist painter (1904-1989) Salvador Dalà as a young man – in love with the poet Federico GarcÃa Lorca, played by Javier Beltran.
The two meet at university, with Lorca attracted to what the movie’s production notes call DalÃ’s “bizarre blend of shyness and rampant exhibitionism.” Hey, beats a bite in the neck.
Little Ashes opens in late March.

It is so wonderful to see Little Ashes getting some well deserved attention. There is no release date for Australia as yet but I absolutely cannot wait for the day when we too will be able to see the movie.
