I’m not sure if you’ve heard about this, but there is a ‘Little Ashes Movement’ in the US at the moment, where fans are emailing, calling and talking to their local cinemas about Little Ashes, asking them to show it. The Little Ashes Promo Blitz are asking all UK fans to do the same. At the moment, there  are about 7 theatres across the UK, showing this movie. If you live in the UK, and want to see Little Ashes at cinema near you, please click here and find out about the ‘Little Ashes Movement’.

What about Australian fans? So far, we know that the film already has a distributor here, Kojo Pictures. But there is no news on any cinema screening at all. They were saying that the film might go straight to DVD. Any of you interested in starting a ‘Little Ashes Movement’ here in Australia?

Amanda Bell from Examiner interviewed Carlo Dusi about Little Ashes and asked him, amongst other things, about his involvement in Rob’s selection as Salvador Dalie and what made Rob perfect for the role.  This is what Carlo had to say:

“Robert had been on my radar for some time, as I had actually got him to read for a role in a pilot for a feature film that I made in 2006, and while he was too young for that particular role I had already been extremely impressed by his screen presence and his acting ability. When our dates for the shoot of Little Ashes were confirmed and we went back into the market to find our Salvador Dali’ in Britain, he was immediately one of our shortlist, and his reading for the role left us all in no doubt that he was the right person for the role.  Of course no-one could have imagined at the time how his career would have soared so soon after our shoot, but we could all tell that there was a very special quality to him, as well as huge talent and integriy as an actor.

Finally, Robert is himself an incredibly intense, artistic and complex character whose intelligence immediately tapped into both the insecure side of Dali’s personality as well as his flamboyance, and the arc that he managed to create for Dali’s journey during the film is a real testament to his craft as an actor.”

You can read the full article here.  Well Carlo, it’s good to see that someone other than a screaming fangirl is singing Rob’s praises.

The build up to the limited release of “Little Ashes” on 8 May seems to be in full swing.  Here’s two new exclusive banners of Dali.  I’m still hoping that some arthouse cinemas decide to screen this soon, failing which I guess there’s always September to look forward to.  Thanks to Little Ashes Promotional Blitz and Little Ashes official site  for the info.

Just to tease us a little more, here is another new scene from Little Ashes shown on E! News the other night. Thanks again to our amazing affiliate Spunk Ransom for the video. “Toujours Paris” – how much do we love it when Rob speaks French.  I know it’s bad to wish your life away but … is it August yet???
