For the first time in a long time I’m not sure what to say – except a big thank you to all of you who visit us and spend time putting up with my occasional abuse – c’mon the word “ugly” and “Rob” should NEVER be used in the same sentence.  Today we celebrate 2 years online … where has the time gone – I love how I get sucked into the Rob vortex!  As some of you already know, I, of course, did not start the site, Michelle on the other hand has been here since day 1 and I’d say Vertigo was probably commenting since then too.  I was lucky enough to be asked to help post in February/March 2009 and Cilla gave Michelle and I the site in I think May 2009 (thanks to Cannes May 2009 is still a bit of a blur).  So here we are November 2010, still loving Rob and yeah well no plans to go anywhere whilst this man’s career flourishes – I mean just think of what’s in store for us in 2011 that we already know – Bel-Ami, Water For Elephants, Breaking Dawn and whatever other projects Rob will hopefully commit to soon *please Rob stop teasing*.  Just as importantly, we’ve met and made some amazing friends along the way not only through our affiliates, but also all of you who take time to visit.  I’m sure I can speak on behalf of Michelle and Vertigo when I say we are so looking forward to 2011 and beyond and hope you are all here to share that with us – otherwise it will  just be Michelle, Vertigo and myself posting and commenting because we really are not going anywhere.  Well enough from me – as probably expected and predictable as I have become, here’s my little tribute to Rob to celebrate not only our birthday but  his brilliant career so far because really that’s why we are here.
Thanks for your beautiful message Rob but enough with the chatter, it’s our turn.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE!!! Â You are one of a kind and deserve to celebrate this special day among the many Robs you love and adore. Â Here you will find a reflection of some moods and moments you’ve shared and celebrated with us on our Rob journey.
You are an amazing woman and friend and I’m soooo glad to have found you. Â Thanks again Rob for bringing us all together – my heart is full … I mean it.
haha Maria and I sat up waiting until you went to bed last night to get our posts done, you didn’t peek did you? lol  Have an amazeballs of a day *cheers*
What an amazing week it has been celebrating Rob as Salvador Dali, I have enjoyed every single minute of it & we still have one more treat to share with you all. Â Maria has put together this wonderful video which features six more of the scenes that blew us away. Enjoy everyone & of course tomorrow we will begin celebrating another of Rob’s brilliant roles. Â Hmm who could it be? *smiles*
Seriously Michelle & Vertigo are out and so there’s noone here to reign me in! Â I know there has to be a way for me to almost get the entire film on the site *looksovershoulder*. Â So here are a few of my favourite lines from Salvador – it’s like a “grand deluge” and I hope you enjoy!
Like some animal that’s been skinned …
Umming and ahrring I changed my mind about how many times was it M&M’s? Every scene is a favourite and has a telling as beautiful as the next. Â I chose to share this piece with you all today, a combination of two moments deliberately meshed in the movie, giving insight to Salvador seeing Federico and visa versa. Â The alley which then leads to the common room where these two souls connect while oblivious to onlookers (beautiful). Â Rob’s delivery is so convincing that you feel Dali with every ounce of your being. Â We have to be brave Federico!
If anyone is going to remember me, then I need to go further in everything …
There are truly no words in existence to express how much I adore Rob’s performance as Dali in this beautiful film. Brilliant & breathtaking are the closest but honestly, no word has been invented that could ever do him & it justice. When trying to choose a fave scene, like Maria I really did struggle. I adore each & every single moment in this film – they are all beautiful, touching & so very special. After much thought I came to rest upon this scene where as we know, Dali paints Little Ashes. I chose this one for so so many reasons & it has always especially stood out to me. Even though the first part of the scene has no words, Rob’s body language, facial expressions & actions say it all. Â This is such a tender, beautiful & special moment between Dali & Lorca & everytime I watch this scene with that beautiful music that plays in the background, I feel exactly the same way – speechless, believe everything they say to each other & believe 100% in their feelings for each other. Rob & Javier are absolutely brilliant together. Dali & Lorca’s relationship is such a complicated, beautiful & heartbreaking one & they convey this all so perfectly. I could seriously go on forever & ever with my praise for Rob & the film & every single word is so thoroughly deserved. All who have had the privilege of seeing this film & experiencing Rob’s superb performance – you know exactly what I mean. To anyone who has not seen Little Ashes, I urge you to. It will take your breath away & without doubt – stay with you forever.
