Deadline mentioned in their Good Time article today (see Michelle’s earlier post) that Memento Films would be selling Good Time at the American Film Market.  According to Memento Film’s AFM lineup – a new promo reel will be available .  What I wouldn’t give to see that promo reel.  I also see that delivery of the film is expected in Spring 2017 *twirls*
The film news keeps on coming this morning, so exciting. Â Great news for Good Time, thanks to Variety:
A24 has acquired North American rights to “Good Time,†a caper film with Robert Pattinson, Variety has learned.
The film follows a bank robber’s race to evade the police dragnet that threatens to send him behind bars. Josh and Benny Safdie directed the movie from a screenplay by Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein. “Good Time†also stars Jennifer Jason-Leigh and Barkhad Abdi.
The Safdie brothers are well known in the indie film community for their work on “Go Get Some Rosemary†and “Heaven Knows What.†Pattinson shot to fame as the brooding vampire in the “Twilight†films. Since accelerating the heart rates of teen girls the world over, he’s used his heartthrob status to get backing for edgier fare, working with David Cronenberg on “Map to the Stars†and “Cosmopolis,†and appearing in the upcoming James Gray drama “Lost City of Z.â€

According to Cinando, Memento Films International has been appointed the sales agent for the Safdie Bros “Good Time”. Â Interesting that it says “Coming Soon”. Â Only good things can come from that.
This is a great partnership.
“Memento Films International is a select arthouse international sales agent focused on tracking and accompanying high-profile, director-driven independent films. Recognized and respected for the quality of the films we represent, whether high profile fare with a medium-sized budget or cutting-edge low-budgets from emerging talents, the value we seek most is originality.”
They usually only select 8 to 10 films per year.  I wonder if they will include this film in their slate if they are attending the American Film Market coming up in a few weeks.  Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if Memento Films is the distributor for France.  Exciting times ahead.  I’ll keep you posted.
So I’m really not sure why IMDbPro updated “post production” with today’s date (10 October 2016) since we haven’t seen it move out of post production *shrugs*. Â If anyone can shed light let me know. Â They did, however, add another cast member -Â Marcos A Gonzalez as the “arresting police officer”. Â Talk about teasing us.
I noticed that Robert’s main page on IMDbPro updated today changing some of the years that a few of his films are proposed to be released.  For instance, and I could be wrong, but I thought Good Time was 2016 – this morning when I checked IMDbPro it sat below The Lost City of Z.  Back on 4 September Oscar Boyson had a Q&A on Reddit and he mentioned this about Good Time when asked how long it takes to edit a feature film:
High Life is now also being listed as 2018.  Damsel has always been 2017.  Anyway, just thought I would point it out.  Am also lgoing to ignore The Trap for the moment – who knows if that will ever eventuate and if so, if Robert will be available if and when it does.
The Playlist has included two of Robert Pattinson’s films in their wishlist for films that might have their world premieres at film festivals this fall:
“Good Time†The Safdie Brothers’ “Heaven Knows What†was a total surprise — a film that few were aware of until it premiered at Venice two years ago and proceeded to blow everybody’s socks off. The duo shot their latest film at the start of the year, a ‘neo-grindhouse’ crime thriller about a bank robber trying to stay free, with some A-list backing thanks to star Robert Pattinson. The film’s long since wrapped, and given their history at Venice, we reckon we’ll see them there again this time in the main competition.
“The Lost City Of Z†We have to say, after a sales trailer leaked earlier in the year, we were expecting to see James Gray’s “The Lost City Of Z†at Cannes, given that he’s such a favorite there. But word is it wasn’t ready, which would appear to make a Venice debut for the director for his period adventure, starring Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland and (*resigned sigh*) Charlie Hunnam, more likely. Gray’s stuck to Cannes since “The Yards†sixteen years ago but “Little Odessa†won the Silver Lion on the Lido, and the stage would seem to be set for a return in that direction. Going straight to TIFF could be possible too, but Venice seems very likely to us.
Well we won’t have to wait too long to see if this wishlist meets our own.
