Brian Lehrer discussed “Movies to Watch in 2017” on his show with Brandon Harris, a visiting assistant professor of film at SUNY Purchase and a contributing editor to Filmmaker magazine. Brandon recommends movies to see (and skip) in 2017, but at the very end of this podcast Brian asks Brandon “What’s your single thing you’re most excited about” and Brandon responds:
“Oh, wow, I would say that among everything coming in the New Year, I really cannot wait to see the new film coming out by Benny and Josh Safdie, which is a fugitive movie starring Robert Pattinson called Good Time, which A24 will probably release in the new year. Â Really fantastic filmmakers.
For those who love film like me (and Posh) you should listen to the entire podcast.

Thanks Posh for heads up.
Robert Pattinson “Good Time” Delivery Spring 2017
You might recall back in October 2016, we posted that Robert Pattinson “Good Time” was included in Memento Films’ AFM lineup with a new promo reel.  It’s now included in Memento Films’ Sundance catalogue under “Upcoming” and still quotes “Delivery Spring 2017”.  They have of course updated the description and added A24.  Spring is just around the corner isn’t it!

For those following Josh Safdie (booger_nose) on Instagram, you would have seen that he posted the following on his IG story.

Interesting.  I have to admit I’m not familiar with ONT’s music, but you can find out more information at his website or you can check out FACT.  Something tells me he is going to gain a whole raft of new followers.

It appears Cahiers du Cinéma has featured Robert Pattinson “Good Time” as part of their most anticipated films of 2017.
Thanks to Posh who translated for us:  Josh Safdie sent them the picture and he explains that they were shooting in a real prison in Queens with friends who had friends with criminal records that had been in jail only a few weeks before the shooting.  They also cast previous guards to play the prison guards.  They recreated Rikers Island the biggest prison in New York.  The photo was taken in the Day Room  with a general des sangs 3 stars – the most notorious one from american gangs who was kind and charismatic and named Jerome.
I knew Robert Pattinson’s character name in Good Time was “Connie” and I had previously seen a mention that the full name was “Connie Nikas” but it was never confirmed on IMDbPro until now. Hmmm looks like Robert might be playing someone with Greek heritage – this should be interesting. Â Might explain the perm ha!
Back in July 2016, The Playlist listed Robert Pattinson’s “Good Time” in their wishlist for movies premiering at Film Festivals in the fall.  At that time, prior to Good Time having an American distributor, they were vying for Venice in 2016.  Venice has come and gone and although their second choice of Robert’s films “The Lost City of Z” did have a premiere, we are yet to see Good Time. Today The Playlist listed Good Time as no. 48 in their “100 Most Anticipated Films of 2017” and this time they are pinning their hopes on Sundance.  Although Sundance has announced a range of films, that as yet don’t include any of Robert’s, there’s still time.  So we might jump on The Playlist’s bandwagon and cross everything it’s included in next round of announcements.
Thanks Sue for the DM – I hadn’t finished reading this article and got sidetracked after I tweeted about High Life and the 2018 mention.
