I noticed that Robert’s main page on IMDbPro updated today changing some of the years that a few of his films are proposed to be released.  For instance, and I could be wrong, but I thought Good Time was 2016 – this morning when I checked IMDbPro it sat below The Lost City of Z.  Back on 4 September Oscar Boyson had a Q&A on Reddit and he mentioned this about Good Time when asked how long it takes to edit a feature film:

It takes as long as it takes! The feature I’m producing with Josh & Benny Safdie has been in the edit for 6 months now and we’re going to keep on going until it’s the best it can be. Getting boxed into a deadline can be helpful but I think putting time into your edit is generally undervalued on youtube. So you can really separate yourself from the competition by spending more time editing. Adobe CS has everything you need… [My emphasis]

High Life is now also being listed as 2018.  Damsel has always been 2017.  Anyway, just thought I would point it out.  Am also lgoing to ignore The Trap for the moment – who knows if that will ever eventuate and if so, if Robert will be available if and when it does.

Slowly more castmates are being revealed. Gabriel Casdorph (who seems to dabble in quite a few roles including cinematography) has been revealed as “Anton” on IMDbPro.  Also, I noticed a week or so ago that the set photo of Robert that I’ve used in the collage above is being used on IMDb & IMDbPro as the primary image for “Damsel”.

We posted here the exciting news that Damsel has wrapped & the possible early 2017 release. The film is now listed on IMDbPro as ‘Post-Production’ as of August 28 2016.  Cannot wait for this one.  We have SO much to look forward to.

Looks like Damsel has wrapped according to David Regan who is the first assistant camera on the film.  Day 35 of 35 sounds pretty final to me.

Well wrapped. Day 35of35

Also this little tidbit from the Utah Film Commission teases us with the possibility of an early 2017 premiere:

The Western era comedy, Damsel, wrapped up filming last week and is scheduled to premiere early next year. Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska co-star in this comedy about a man trying to marry the woman of his dreams.

Since Twilight, Pattinson has found a new niche in the art-house world with films like Cosmopoli [sic] and The Rover. The Zellner Brothers’ new project, Damsel, fits the bill of art-house, but should be more lighthearted than the former…

Early 2017?  Well the Zellner Bros’s Kumiko was at Sundance Film Festival (January 2014), Berlin International Film Festival (February 2014) and South by Southwest Film Festival (March 2014), not to mention a myriad of others including Sydney Film Festival in June 2014.  They also wrapped filming in October 2013 and managed to have the film complete in time for Sundance.  So let the waiting game begin – where will we see this film.  Selfishly I have my fingers crossed that David Zellner comes back to Sydney like he did in 2014. That was an incredibly auspicious year for the SFF *winks*.

Thanks Lisa.

Updated: Confirmation from David Zellner that Damsel has indeed wrapped

I’ve been off the grid this summer shooting our next feature out in the wilderness and we’ve just wrapped. A western called “DAMSEL”. So much gratitude for the kind, talented and wonderful people who joined us on this crazy fun adventure. Can’t wait to share it when it’s done.

I’m in the minority here I know.  I have a new policy of avoiding unofficial set photos because I have loved being surprised at Robert’s films at the cinema.  Plus I actually listened to Robert and know what he thinks about set stalkers.  So for those who are curious – here’s one photo from the set of Damsel.  The other more clearer photos can be found here if you don’t mind spoilers.  #Update:  forgot to mention that these are from the Oregon set not Utah that has wrapped.

According to the make up artist, Amy L Forsythe, Damsel has wrapped production in Utah.  Can’t wait to see what this film is all about – I love that we know hardly anything.  Robert surprises are the best.

That’s a wrap on Utah y’all. #ontheroadagain #livingnowherehasitsperks
