Obviously we don’t have any release dates other than the tweet from @MartinKoolhoven that mentions a possible Summer 2016 release.  However, we do know some of its distributors thanks to IMDBPro (unless otherwise stated).  I will update this post when more info comes to hand.  For ease too, you can find this information on our “Brimstone” page under the “Films” tab.

@MartinKoolhoven tweeted that he was being interviewed on Radio6NL and thankfully @RobsPromotion was listening and translating via the tweets below:

  • on Radio 6 The Netherlands says that the time he’ll start filming is coming close.
  • now nerve-racking time figuring out what is allowed and can(not) be filmed
  • had meetings today about sound and sound-design
  • Although he still has to prove it, he believes is going to be really good.
  • Talks fans who search the internet for all info and translate everything.  He jokingly said that we are definitely not following him for his football related tweets
  • He says that he’ll start filming in less than two months from now.
  • more a thriller than a western.
  • Doesn’t give much info about bcs still wants to think how he wants to present movie.
  • starts with new priest who terrorizes village where Liz  lives
  • cast nice and down-to-earth, no HW BS and until now no crazy trailer demands
  • It took him a long time to write the script and called it a ‘difficult delivery’
  • Says he doesn’t have all film-locations for yet and not much time left.

I was gobsmacked this afternoon when I noticed that @BrimstoneMovie only had 905 followers.  HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE with Rob’s fanbase.  All I can think of is that there is confusion that these are not official because they don’t have the blue Twitter tick of approval.  But they are.  Here’s @MartinKoolhoven’s tweet on 6 February:

From Veronica Mag: (using Google Translate)

“That Pattinson is so popular and masses of teenage fans who have very far to go for their idol, Koolhoven did not know. “There are people who devote their lives to unraveling what is to be found about him.””

*cough* I don’t know about teenage *cough*.  I think Martin is in for an even bigger surprise when he realises who a majority of Rob’s fans are.

and the video:

“Translation: “Pattinson was a teen-idol. A lot of fans are still very loyal. I didn’t know he was that popular. I knew he was popular, but not that there are people that have more or less devoted their lives to finding every bit of news about him on the internet, so every interview and most probably also this one ‘hello, Pattinson fans’ will be translated and then everybody talks about it. And because I am on Twitter they tag my name so my whole Twitter-feed is full.

He has a kind of rebellious charisma and he is a handsome guy and he is a very good actor. So I believe he is going to be really good.”

I can’t believe I missed this.  Watch our lovely fellow Aussie Alicia Malone discuss the renaissance of westerns with Richard Gray (director) and talk about Rob, Mia & Guy joining Martin Koolhoven’s “Brimstone”.   I love hearing the correct pronunciation of Wasikowska.  I also love hearing Alicia say how great Rob’s movie choices are.  Make sure you watch the whole video as they talk about Rob and you will undoubtedly love what you hear.  And if Alicia seems familiar to you, you might remember us posting Alicia’s Movie Minutes with Rob in Cannes here, here, here and here.  Go subscribe to AMCi’s YouTube to keep up to date with all things indie.

I can’t help but get a little excited for Rob working with directors he’s always dreamed of working with.  You can just feel his excitement.  This article gives us a little insight into quite a few things.  Read and enjoy.

“DE VOLKSKRANT interview with Rob at the Berlinale by Floortje Smith, February 12th 2015: EX TEEN IDOL

Actor Robert Pattinson is used to the Red Carpet, where he, thanks to the Twilight series, was often waylaid by teenage girls. Now he plays a Red Carpet photographer in Anton Corbijn’s LIFE.

One of the first things that director, Anton Corbijn, did after he had cast Robert Pattinson was to put a camera in his hands. In the role of Dennis Stock, photographer of the international photo press bureau Magnum, the camera, he thought, had to become a part of his body. He had another reason: Pattinson had to feel how it is to be behind the camera instead of being in front of it.

The role that Pattinson plays in the new movie of Anton Corbijn, that got a special Gala Screening at Berlin, feels a bit like the world is upside-down. In the movie the world star and teen idol stands in between the photographers at the Red Carpet where in real life the 28 year old actor is waylaid by photographers.
