You read that right.   Death Grips first shared “Birds” on their Facebook on 22 August 2013.  Funnily enough this song was rumored to have been recorded for the non-existent movie Miseonism, remember all that hullabaloo.  I hope this isn’t another hoax – it is Death Grips after all.

UPDATED:  “It’s been confirmed that this is true. Zach Hill recorded Pattinson’s guitar with his iPhone and the band sampled the recording on the track.” (@pitchfork)

“Beardy” Rob and what better way to celebrate than with video of Rob with a beard, singing in a living room that sadly wasn’t mine

Full song no visuals, but it’s still Beardy Rob

For those who appreciate Rob’s vocal stylings … It was a long wait for the official clip and dear lord was it worth it. Kick back and enjoy …
… makes the soul sing doesn’t it.

Rob was super busy in 2010 and I really loved choosing which goodness to post for this RPAU series. 😀

Hands up if you think Rob has the most AMAZING soulful, beautiful voice and you were blown away by the songs which appeared on the Twilight soundtrack?  Yup, me too.  So here they both are (under the cut); Let me Sign and Never Think and they inspired a few experimental edits to go with them….hope you enjoy. 🙂

I would give anything for this rumour to be true, but it’s probably not so I thought I would use the excuse to post Rob’s Songs From a Room performance.  According to Us Weekly:

“Robert Pattinson, rock star?

The British actor, 25, is prepping to record an album imminently, two sources tell Us Weekly.

Rob has been kicking a few original songs around for a long time, but his schedule didn’t allow it,” one insider explains of the superstar, who recorded two songs, “Never Think” (which he co-wrote with pal Sam Bradley) and “Let Me Sign” for the original Twilight soundtrack.

“Now he’s got some weeks to get everything in line before going back to promoting Breaking Dawn.”

But don’t expect a chart-topping album with broad mass appeal and a string of top 40 hits. “The album Rob will make will be guitar-based and drums, very organic-sounding, nothing pop,” explains a second source of the indie-music fan, “Like stripped-down Ray LaMontagne meets Van Morrison.” …

“Music is his first love!” says the second source. “He’s tortured because he avoids it. When he’s sitting around jamming in the studio, it’s his favorite moment of life.”

To prep for the recording session, the guitar player has been “studying on on other instruments — like piano and horns,” the first source reveals. “It’s an obsession for him.”

Ok well let’s break down what is actually said in this article and  how many inaccuracies are in it:

1.  “Imminently” – doesn’t that mean likely to happen?  So in actual fact it has been “imminent” for the last 5 or so years really.

2.  Rob didn’t co-write Never Think – Sam wrote the original and Rob kind of tweeked the Twilight version … right.

3.  I hope they mean by some weeks to get everything in line they are just talking about booking the recording studio and other musicians and not actually recording the album.  Let’s face it – Rob’s pretty much had the last 8 or so weeks to “get everything in line”.

4. Oh I think you CAN expect a chart topping album – it doesn’t have to have top 40 hits to be successful.  Plus Rob has something the majority of top 40 artists don’t have and that’s talent.  Bwahahahaha sorry but guitar based and drums – um I think you just described every rock band there is … oops sorry I digress.

5.  Okay studying on other instruments “like piano and horns”.  Rob doesn’t need to study piano …

Hmmmm I think I could have written a better and more accurate article about Rob’s “imminent” recording deal.

Right … so I just really posted this in the hope of putting it out there and it may happen, plus I think even though we all WANT Rob to record an album, he has said time and time again that he doesn’t want to look like he’s cashing in on his career.  I gather Rob will pretty much tell us he’s doing it before it happens and I can’t really believe he could slip into a recording studio without anyone noticing although stranger things have happened.

Scroll back up and click on pic to listen to Rob perform … *SWOON*

Updated:  MTV have debunked, even though I pretty much think I debunked it above.  It’s not rocket science.  Anyway if you want further confirmation that this is just a rumour, click on MTV link.  Oh and by the way MTV can you just stop it with the Twilight references he is MORE than a BD Star in fact I believe currently he should be referred to as the Water For Elephants star .. jesus I’m beginning to think the “T” in MTV stands for Twilight.
