No prizes for guessing what my song choice might have been for this tribute to Georges.  I thought I’d put together solo Georges … so much goodness in this film I could have done an extended dance mix.   Hope you enjoy

A huge welcome back to the Golden years series and I can’t tell you guys how much it still thrills and excites to be experiencing the adventure that is Rob’s work. I still can’t believe the last series we did was back in 2010!  Since then we’ve been treated to more on screen magic and in looking at Bel-Ami, ALL Rob’s scenes are my absolute faves …
I thought this time we could celebrate the softer manwhorey lover side of Georges.
Rob had the opportunity to pull off some really natural moments in Bel Ami and here he is doing exactly that …
some joy when he is in the comforting arms of Clotilde (oh and vice versa).

This is one of my favorite scenes from Bel Ami. It’s our introduction to Georges, a penniless soldier who is struggling to establish himself financially and socially, and it sets the stage for his manipulative rise to power. The seductive looks he gives the prostitute are thud-worthy. And I just find him very sexy in that outfit. Enjoy. 😉

A big thank you to Maria for putting the video together.

I am so excited to be starting our Golden Years series again. I loved every minute of it first time around. Spending a week with each of Rob’s characters, celebrating each one individually was just so much fun. As you can see we are starting with Georges Duroy. We waited so long to see Rob in action as Georges & of course, he was worth every minute. His portrayal of Georges is just superb.  He plays the nasty & money hungry bastard that is Georges to perfection. He had me glued to the screen upon first viewing & to this day, still the same each time I watch.  Now, how to choose a fave Georges scene, that is the question & a very tough one at that. Each scene Rob is so perfect in & I love each & every scene so much for different reasons. The scene I’ve chosen after much thought is Georges seducing Virginie in the church. He’s like an animal stalking his pray, watching her from his carriage & following her in, using his charm, gorgeous looks & playing on the affection he knows Virginie has for him. I love how nasty he is in this scene. The cold looks on his face, the way he commands attention, takes charge & stays completely cool – brilliant. Everything goes according to plan here for Georges & he ends up exactly where he wants to be with Virginie. The end part of the scene comes with an extra WARNING *_________________*

I cannot wait to spend the week with Georges, celebrating Rob’s brilliant portrayal of this, to quote Rob ‘manwhore’ who’s desire to reach the top is so vital, that he will do anything to get there. He knows exactly what he wants & quickly learns who & what can get him there. Enjoy 🙂

Thanks so much once again to Maria for putting together these awesome vids for us. How brilliant are they!
