Matt Reeves tweets about Robert Pattinson as The Batman
We already knew Robert Pattinson was named as the new “Batman”, Matt Reeves tweet this morning just seals the deal further. Am wondering though if the 3 bats are confirmation that Rob has signed on for 3 films. If you recall Deadline did mention that the deal will “clearly include options on at least two more films, but this is considered a formality in a drawn out process.” Hmmm.
We’ve also created The Batman film page which we will keep updating. You can access via the image on the sidebar or through our film page tab. Alternatively you can bookmark it from HERE.
For those on instagram, there is also now an official Batman IG. Make sure you are following it.
Rob sure is making sure he’s keeping us busy – the next few years are going to be phenomenal.
Robert Pattinson in final talks for Matt Reeves DC Comics Batman
I picked a bad day to be involved in all day meetings. Whilst I was away from the internet it seemed to explode with the news that Rob was:
- Matt Reeves new Batman;
- In final discussions to be Matt Reeves new Batman
- the worst choice for Batman according to the many who are apparently already signing petitions (we’ve been down this road before and thankfully the 75,000 who signed the petition to rid Twilight of Rob failed).
Variety started this rumour with the catchy byline of “Robert Pattinson to Play Batman for Matt Reeves (Exclusive”). However, when clicking on the article you find out that it’s not so exclusive and that:
Sources tell Variety that Robert Pattinson is in negotiations to play “The Batman†in Matt Reeves’ forthcoming superhero film, which hits theaters June 25, 2021.
While sources say it’s not yet a done deal, Pattinson is the top choice and it’s expected to close shortly. Warner Bros. had no comment.
Not yet a done deal, but that didn’t stop other media outlets from turning on the Bat signal.

Robert Pattinson #HighLife has strong opening at specialty box office
From Slanted:
The new release from A24 is showing a lot of promise at the box office. “High Life†hit a handful of locations this weekend and took the top spot in theater averages on the box office charts. Directed by Claire Denis, the film features Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Andre Benjamin, and Mia Goth and follows a father and daughter as they try to survive life in deep space. The film is one of several big projects that Pattinson has in the works, and just one of many thrillers that A24 has planned for fans of the genre.
“High Life†did well with fans and critics before its release. The thriller has an 89% rating on RottenTomatoes with an audience score of 61%. “High Life†hit the box office during a crowded weekend, debuting at the same time as “Shazam!,†“Pet Sematary,†and “The Best of Enemies.†A24’s new release crushed the specialty box office despite the competition, opening in four locations across the country and making over $100K for the studio. “Shazam!†and “Pet Sematary†also had notable openings this weekend, with “Shazam!†pulling in over $54M while “Pet Sematary†grossed over $25M.
In theater averages, “High Life†came out on top this week. The film made an average of $25K per location on its debut weekend. In comparison, “Shazam!†landed in second-place with a $12.6K average, and “Pet Sematary†made an average of $6,974 per location.Â
If you’re in the US and #HighLife isn’t coming to a theatre near you, you can preorder the film on iTunes and Prime Video for when it is released.

Robert Pattinson and Claire Denis will collaborate again on The Stars at Noon
Jake Mulligan attended Claire Denis’ post #HighLife Q&A today at the Brattle Theater (thanks to IFF Boston) and shared the following about what projects Claire’s currently working on:
Rob and Claire working together again. Of course I jumped onto Book Depository and ordered a copy because the synopsis was intriguing:
Set in Nicaragua in 1984, The Stars at Noon is a story of passion, fear, and betrayal told in the voice of an American woman whose mission in Central America is as shadowy as her surroundings. Is she a reporter for an American magazine as she sometimes claims, or a contact person for Eyes of Peace? And who is the rough English businessman with whom she becomes involved? As the two foreigners become entangled in increasingly sinister plots, Denis Johnson masterfully dramatizes a powerful vision of spiritual bereavement and corruption.Â
