So the other day when I quoted Depeche Mode’s “Just Can’t Get Enough” I got an idea to do a tribute vid to Cosmopolis and maybe some recent premiere footage and I think I may have been encouraged by a few. Â Anyway I started looking into it on Friday night and then … well … as much as I love Depeche Mode, I really can’t go past Marilyn Manson’s version of Personal Jesus. Â So yesterday I decided to get some inspiration. Â I love this version (and suprisingly a LOT of Marilyn’s music – who knew). Â Anyway I’ve added some Sydney premiere footage that should be new to a lot of people, please if you are reposting source us for that because it really was given to me and I haven’t posted it on the site (the benefits of being interviewed by James Tobin *winks*). Â Anyway enough of me rambling except – I’ve put in a little snippet from the Sydney red carpet that proves that you really couldn’t “reach out and touch faith” on that night!
If you can get past the sound quality, you will see and hear why we are posting this cute little interview. Will update when a better version comes to light.
Just for the record – you don’t have to feed me candy Rob, I do so using my own will.
Martha I’ve been trying to finish this vid in time for your birthday (yeah yeah I know I’m supposed to be relaxing and recovering, but Rob is very therapeutic). Â Anyway this really isn’t enough to thank you for all the magazines and heartfelt wishes you have sent us (and others at RPAU) over the last few weeks and I just wanted you to know we are thinking about you as we start to say goodbye to your birthday and you start to say hello. Â See you get 2 days here at RPAU (and people make fun of me for celebrating an entire week)! Â (PS. Â Thanks Vertigo for inspiration on how to finish this vid)!
Hope you have a fantastic day tomorrow – you certainly deserve it and you certainly have mine, Michelle’s, Vertigo’s, Â Lise-Lou’s and your RPAU family’s heartfelt best wishes. Â And now over to Bono & U2 …
I need you to elevate me here
At the corner of your lips
As the orbit of your hips
Eclipse, you elevate my soul
I’ve got no self control
Been living like a mole now
Going down, excavation
I and I in the sky
You make me feel like I can fly
So high, elevation
Well I can truly say that one of the highlights of 2010 for me was not Rob related – shock horror I know – but in fact being at U2 in December with Vertigo and hearing them sing this song live. Â I realised on Wednesday that I didn’t have a song for Vertigo’s birthday vid (not to mention that my vid software isn’t working since my laptop crashed before Christmas so I had to storm a friend’s house and take over for a few hours or 10) – so something that has been staring me in the face forever was luckily brought to my attention by @lise-lou – thanks lise for the brainstorming. Â So without further ado – here’s my birthday tribute for Vertigo – hope you have an awesome day hun and I know we reminisced about this the other day, but I’m so thankful for the HTB screening almost two years ago when you walked up to me and said “Are you Maria?” and you got the look – you know the one …
