Robert Pattinson Joking with Claire Denis is our April 2020 12 Months of Rob Winner\
45 to 9 is a pretty solid response to which photo was your fave for next year’s April feature in RPAU’s 12 Months of Rob 2020 Calendar. Claire is living the dream … you know we all think it. Suze’s May choices will be posted soon – stay tuned for the difficult task she is going to set for us.

David Michôd talks casting Robert Pattinson as Rey in #TheRover
David Michôd talked to HitFix back in May 2014 about casting Robert Pattinson as ‘Rey’ in ‘The Rover and this is what HitFix and David had to say:
The 41-year-old filmmaker had worked with Pearce in “Animal
Kingdom” and both he and Joel Edgerton, who received a shared story-by
credit, created Eric with him in mind. Pattinson, on the other hand, was a
different story. Michôd had a general meeting with the actor before he
“The Rover” became his follow-up and says he just immediately liked
him.
“I found him really beguiling and I loved his physical energy, and he was smart and had a wonderfully open face,” Michôd recalls. “When it came time to start testing for the character, I knew I wanted to see him, but yeah, I didn’t know what he was capable of. I think he knew that people didn’t know what he was capable of as well and so he was very willing to work and work hard. But very quickly when he came in to test for me I could just see this skill set that he just hasn’t been able to showcase.”

Robert Pattinson was perfect for Salvador Dali according to Paul Morrison
Back in May 2009, Paul Morrison the director of Little Ashes spoke to The Examiner about Rob and casting him as Salvador Dali in #LittleAshes:
For Lorca and Dali, I must have seen every up-and-coming young actor who was available in both Spain and the U.K. Originally, Rob read for Lorca, and I was going to cast Dali in Spain. But Rob felt so much more a Dali – the combination of acute intelligence and vulnerability and self-consciousness that the part demanded – that I switched, and brought him back to read for Dali. He was perfect. I never saw anyone in Spain who felt right for Dali, by the way.
Wishing Everyone a Wonderful 2019
As we find ourselves heading into our eleventh year blogging about this fabulous man – we wanted to thank you all for helping us support Rob and making it so enjoyable. 2019 is gearing up to be another busy year – #TheLighthouse, #TheKing and #WaitingfortheBarbarians all in post production and #HighLife having its cinema release. Not to mention #TheDevilAllTheTime should start filming next month. Rob’s career is going from strength to strength and it’s not surprise to anyone who has been around for as long as we have (or longer). We wish all of you a healthy, happy and memorable 2019.
Rob – we hope 2019 brings you even more joy than the joy you bring to all of us – Happy New Year!
