Robert Pattinson photographed with Daniel Pemberton and Cast of Birds of Prey
Remember when Rob hung out with the cast of Birds of Prey – well here’s a new photo thanks to Jurnee Smollett Bell. Can’t thank her enough. That’s Daniel Pemberton in the photo who some of you may recall also did the score for Rob’s The Haunted Airman. PS. Like your panda eyes Rob.
I will update this post with filming changes as and when they happen with the most recent update at the top of the thread.
UPDATED: 26 MARCH 2020
I was only saying yesterday that with the UK on lock down surely The Batman filming won’t resume on 30 March 2020. This morning Matt Reeves confirmed that indeed filming has been shutdown. Hope they all stay healthy and safe as that’s what is more important.
Yes, we have shut down till it is safe for us all to resume… Everyone safe for the moment, thank you for asking, and stay safe too… https://t.co/wDhlYtphlm
Many news sites are now reporting the hiatus, but Deadline had the exclusive:
Warner Bros. joins other studios in temporarily stopping production on big pics, the latest being the studio’s reboot of The Batman starring Robert Pattinson in the title role.
Word was that production was re-locating from London to Liverpool in the UK and out of safety in the current coronavirus climate, Warners just decided to halt shooting for the time being. Again, no one from the cast or crew has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
“Warner Bros. Pictures feature production of The Batman will be on a two-week hiatus starting today. The studio will continue to monitor the situation closely†the Burbank lot informed in a statement.
Michael Giacchino talks Robert Pattinson and #TheBatman with Collider
I have started it towards the end where Michael and Adam only talk about The Batman, but you should watch the whole interview as Michael gives great insight into how he works and also just before this he talks about working with Matt Reeves on the Planet of the Apes films. He has some wonderful words about Rob ” Robert Pattinson is a fantastic actor and I’m thrilled to see him in it – it’s such a crazy great choice for Batman and people will realise that when they see it.” That they will indeed Michael – that they will. Had to also laugh at his comment that WB would point a red laser at his head if he revealed anything. What a character.
“#RobertPattinson is just a fantastic actor and I’m thrilled to see him in it like I feel that is such a crazy great choice for Batman.” – Composer @m_giacchino talks #TheBatman
Robert Pattinson talks isolation, working out and crazy fandoms
I knew as soon as I started watching this interview that it was familiar. We posted a slightly shorter version from Cine News here. I think the only differences are the intro and that it’s not spliced with footage from The Lighthouse. Anyway for the sake of completeness here is Kinowetter’s interview uploaded today. Rob talks isolation, working out for The Batman and fandoms.
Robert Pattinson tells Elle Portugal he’s doing intensive training for #TheBatman
Elle Portugal has a new interview with Rob (although parts of it are similar to Elle Korea). Below is an extract from the English translation talking Batman and the Go Campaign thanks to Robert Pattinson Portugal – head over to their FB page to read the full translation:
After all the artistic films you’ve made, was it difficult for you to decide to enter a film like Batman? “No, I wanted to do it. In every new job, I’ve been trying to do the opposite of the previous one, in order to surprise myself. And I don’t know why, but at the end of last year, I was thinking I really wanted to do a big movie. I hadn’t thought about exactly what it could be, and then Chris Nolan and Tenet came in and Batman came out shortly after. I had been making small movies, I was already relatively comfortable in what I was doing for a while, for “I didn’t even get nervous. I didn’t even stay with Tenet, which is a great production. I think it was also because of the filmmakers. I can totally trust Chris Nolan and Matt Reeves. They are very unique filmmakers who would immediately say yes if wanted to make a smaller film. “
Do you have to physically prepare to step into Batman’s shoes? Is that why you’ve been running a lot lately? “Yes. As soon as I finish this job, I will immediately start intensive training. In fact, it is quite pleasant, because I have been doing so many hours in Chris Nolan’s film that the idea of being really healthy for a few months, just doing physical exercise and sleep seems like a real dream! I can’t wait! But yes, I was never a big guy. So I have a certain curiosity about what it’s like to be. “
@mattreevesLA reveals Robert Pattinson Batmobile & Bat Suit | #TheBatman
Matt Reeves revealed the bat mobile today on twitter and also Rob’s full batsuit and if I’m not mistaken that does look like Rob in the photo. Rob must be stoked, he does have a penchant for muscle cars. I’m loving the look of it – can’t wait to hear Rob revving that engine.
