Well according to Caryn James the answer is no or sort of. Oh well – like I’ve said before, it’s subjective and everyone is entitled to their opinions, everyone loved Titanic the movie – I would rather stick pins in my eyes than have to ever sit through that again. The Academy also gave Nicole Kidman an Oscar for The Hours when I thought Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore acted circles around her. And don’t even get me started about Gwenyth Paltrow who I have not watched in a film since Sliding Doors (and contrary to popular opinion her English accent made my ears bleed).  So all that I’m saying is – I’m posting this so that noone can say we are biased and only post positive opinions about Rob. The one thing though is that my understanding of what came out of Cannes was a pretty even 50/50 split of what they thought about Cosmopolis. Interesting twist on things …
“Robert Pattinson has made some daring artistic choices apart from his most famous, pasty-faced role; too bad so many of those fillms have been clunkers.
He played the young Salvador Dali in Little Ashes, a pre-Twilight film so badly written it left open the question of whether Pattinson could really act. He played the doomed young lover in the icky, maudlin Remember Me (2010), which grafts a contemporary Romeo and Juliet plot onto a 9-11 drama [Maria: I must have read a different Romeo & Juliette]; not his most inspired choice, but at least he was reaching for something serious again. And if Reese Witherspoon and circus animals couldn’t save the snoozefest that was Water for Elephants, you can’t hold Pattinson responsible for that one either.
So we’re still wondering if he can act in strong sunlight and  — uh-oh —  along comes Bel Ami, a predictably pretty, unexpectedly moribund drama.

Yes Rob, we too are looking to the heavens to make sure these projects come to fruition. And please before I get the usual “anyone can change IMDb it’s like Wikipedia”, “IMDb isn’t gospel” blah blah blah – I KNOW (and this is Pro not the free site) so please do not rain on my parade. I’m just excited that there are projects listed because Lise-Lou can vouch for the fact I suffered RSI at the beginning of the year with the amount of times I checked to see if anything had been added.

I’m so hoping this is true. Rob with Phillip Seymour Hoffman – seriously I might just pee my pants. Remember when Phillip thought he could get away with the beanie at the Oscars.  I absolutely loved him in 25th Hour with Ed Norton – no I love Phillip S-H in everything he does pretty much.  Jesus – please be true.
According to The Wrap:
“Benaroya, who co-produced “Margin Call†last year, is fully financing “Kill Your Darlings,†a $4 million thriller with Daniel Radcliffe and Michael C. Hall about young beat poets Allen Ginsburg and Jack Kerouac and a murder.
And he’s also financing the $11 million “Hate Mail,†with Scarlett Johansson, Robert Pattinson and Philip Seymour Hall [Maria: surely this is a typo and it’s Hoffman) . And he executive produced “The Paperboy,†also screening in competition in Cannes.
That’s a lot of money to be throwing down. Benaroya, apart from noting that he’s only lost money on one movie he’s made thus far, said he likes to gamble.
“I’m a serious poker player,” he said. “People like to underestimate me: ‘You look 25. You look like a nice guy. I’m gonna take you for everything you’ve got.’ They’re often surprised when they don’t.—

According to IMDBPro

And here’s an article from Variety in September 2011:
“Writing-directing team Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, who became darlings of the indie scene following “Half Nelson” and “Sugar,” have set their next picture, a drama titled “Hate Mail.”
Project will be fully financed by Wayfare Entertainment, which previously produced Fleck and Boden’s adaptation of Ned Vizzini’s novel “It’s Kind of a Funny Story.”
“Hate Mail” will feature interweaving stories about several Manhattanites who encounter various iterations of hate mail and grapple with the subsequent fallout of their relationships.
…”
Will keep you informed.
PS. Rob we could give you some advice about receiving hate mail.

How desperate are we to hear of what Rob might be doing? In two words – very desperate and so here’s the rumour doing the rounds today. According to Spunk-Ransom and @gossipygal, the Tracking Board is stating “Robert Pattinson Heads to the Round Table for Pendragon”. The article goes on to say:
“Robert Pattinson has been offered one of the lead roles in the new King Arthur retelling PENDRAGON, filling in one of the spots left open after Eric Bana and Michael Fassbender dropped out of the production. Project is a reimagining of the founding of Camelot by King Arthur, with Pattinson up for the role of the fabled king. Pattinson’s potential casting projects a different light on the project, signaling a possible change in tone for the production than when Bana and Fassbender were considered for the leads.
Sylvain White is directing from a script by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy, with Michael Connolly producing.”Â
So according to IMDbPro the movie is “In Development” and the storyline is “The origin story of Camelot and its inhabitants–Arthur, Lancelot, Guinevere, Galahad and Merlin”. As yet there is no mention of cast, but I’ll keep you posted.
What role might be Rob’s, well according to It’s On The Grid, Bana and Fassbender were offered Lancelot and Arthur respectively. Ooh the plot thickens. Imagine Rob in one of these roles.  {Maria: In all my excitement of the Giselher gif I forgot it said that Rob’s been offered Arthur *facepalms*. Forgive me … it couldn’t be helped and I was too sidetracked doing research LOL)
I know it’s only rumour and well we might have to add it to the pile of previous rumours like Akira, The Crow (bwahaha sorry I don’t think I ever took this one seriously) and who can forget The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner (remember Rob apparently had the script for this too). Well we know Rob’s definitely got something up his sleeve, but my patience is starting to run out LOL. C’mon Rob – just tell us already.
Better dust off the giselher gif *giggles*

Thanks Larry!

No Longer on Rob’s IMDbPro as at 30 June 2011.
I know I know – Akira was listed there and now it’s gone so please don’t tell me how unreliable it is, I’ve heard and accepted your comments about it.  I’m not saying this is gospel, but Rob’s IMDbPro is showing The Crow in his projects “In Development”.  There have been rumours of Rob being involved in this remake since 2009, and I’m not sure why they are showing both Bradley Cooper and Rob for the same role since according to The Playlist, Bradley Cooper is definitely playing Eric Draven.  Hmm not sure if Brads can pull off this dark character,  Rob on the other hand I have no doubts about.  Anyway – I’m only posting this to update you on what’s happening with Rob’s IMDbPro – it’s possible nothing will eventuate, but  seeing how desperate we are to hear anything I thought I’d share.  It’s only at script stage given the legal battles involved.  Will keep you posted.

PS. Â The clown pic above is just used to enhance the fact that Rob already does this well – the face paint for those who haven’t seen the Alex Proyas 1994 version of the film.
