I noticed that Robert’s main page on IMDbPro updated today changing some of the years that a few of his films are proposed to be released.  For instance, and I could be wrong, but I thought Good Time was 2016 – this morning when I checked IMDbPro it sat below The Lost City of Z.  Back on 4 September Oscar Boyson had a Q&A on Reddit and he mentioned this about Good Time when asked how long it takes to edit a feature film:

ohboyson Oscar ✔[S] 3 points

It takes as long as it takes! The feature I’m producing with Josh & Benny Safdie has been in the edit for 6 months now and we’re going to keep on going until it’s the best it can be. Getting boxed into a deadline can be helpful but I think putting time into your edit is generally undervalued on youtube. So you can really separate yourself from the competition by spending more time editing. Adobe CS has everything you need… [My emphasis]

High Life is now also being listed as 2018.  Damsel has always been 2017.  Anyway, just thought I would point it out.  Am also lgoing to ignore The Trap for the moment – who knows if that will ever eventuate and if so, if Robert will be available if and when it does.

UPDATE:

Film Commission Poland has posted the same extract as above.

Film.Onet:  High Life ” created in English. The film‘s budget is 33 million, of which 1.5 million will come from the Polish Film Institute. The premiere is scheduled for 2017.”

Filmstart: “On the Polish side for the production of arm  Madants Ltd. will be responsible Klaudia Åšmieja , which was also co-producer of the current winter in cinemas image of Anne Fontaine, “Innocent.”

Remember we posted about Madants and Klaudia Smieja a few weeks ago here.

UPDATE: 18 June 2016

From Film New Europe:

WARSAW: High Life, the first English-language film from Palm D’Or winner Claire Denis, has received 1.5 m PLN from the Polish Film Institute. The film will be a coproduction between France, Germany, UK and Poland.

The film is a coproduction between France (Alcatraz Films), Germany (Pandora Film), UK (Apocalypse Films) and Poland (Madants).

“I’ve been an admirer of her work for years and when I read about her upcoming project last year in Cannes I immediately contacted all the producers involved in the project offering my assistance. I was ready to make coffee on set,” Klaudia Åšmieja of Madants, this year’s Cannes Producer on the Move, told FNE in an exclusive interview. [Maria: Link to Klaudia’s interview is above]

The budget of the film is 7.2 m EUR. The film will be shot at several locations including some in Poland. Film Commission Poland is assisting the producers with location scouting.

Hmmm there’s a discrepancy about the budget – I’m more inclined to think it will be 7.2 m rather than 33 m, it had been reported earlier that the production cost would be 8 million Euro

We’ve had so little news about what is currently happening on Robert Pattinson “High Life” that I thought I would post this little tidbit I found from 12 May 2016.  From FilmNewEurope:

WARSAW: Poland’s Producer On The Move Klaudia Śmieja from the production company Madants is a seasoned film professional specialising in international coproductions. She is currently working on new films by Claire Denis, Agnieszka Holland and Gunnar Sigurdsson.

Continuing her lucky streak of internationally recognized coproductions, Śmieja has a lot on her plate for 2016/2017 with a new project from Agnieszka Holland entitled Garreth Jones, an international coproduction with a budget of 8m EUR, that received 3m PLN from the Polish Film Institute, as well as Janis Nords’ Foam at the Mouth and Sofia Exarchou’s Polish/Greek coproduction Park. One of the biggest future projects for Śmieja is the upcoming sci-fi film from renowned French director Claire Denis entitled High Life, produced for Arte France Cinema by Alcatraz Films (France), Pandora (Germany) and Apocalypse (UK).

“I’ve been an admirer of her work for years and when I read about her upcoming project last year in Cannes I immediately contacted all the producers involved in the project offering my assistance. I was ready to make coffee on set,” she laughed. “This is one of my dream projects and it just goes to show that in this line of work dreams really can come true.”

Still no confirmation of when filming will begin. I also came across a mention, although I can’t find it at the moment, that said Zadie Smith’s involvement was slightly overstated and that all she was doing was cleaning up the English on the script. I’ll link when I find it.  Claire Denis, however, was at Olafur Eliasson’s Exhibition in Versailles on 5 June and we know they are definitely collaborating for the film.

From CineEuropa:

Also begin the presales for Les Fantômes of Ismaël Arnaud Desplechin (with Mathieu Amalric, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Marion Cotillard), Loveless Russian Andrei Zviaguintsev, A Gentle Creature Ukrainian Sergei Loznitsa (inspired by the novel The mild Dostoevsky) and Le Fidèle (the Racer and the Jailbird) Belgian Michaël R. Roskam(Matthias Schoenaerts and Adèle Exarchopoulos …

These shiny new titles complement an incredible line-up which also includes, among others, the sci-fi project High Life by Claire Denis (starring Robert Pattinson), Rodin Jacques Doillon (short shot with Vincent Lindon, Izia Higelin and Séverine Caneele),Espèces menacées (Endangered Species) Gilles Bourdos ( article – in post-production),Maniac Cop John Hyams (produced by Nicolas Winding Refn – filming this summer) and the animated film Playmobil: Robbers, Thieves & Rebels Lino DiSalvo (produced by Paris-based On Animation).
