Robert Pattinson’s films seems to be appearing on a lot of “Anticipated” or “Looking Forward” movie lists. Â I know there are some of us that are Doubting Thomas’ when it comes to The Trap and High Life isn’t scheduled until 2018, but I’m pretty chuffed that Robert’s films are making these lists.
Little White Lies has included 3 of films in their “50 Films to Look Forward to in 2017”
11. The Lost City of Z
Eta spring 2017
James Gray’s follow-up to 2014’s The Immigrant tells the true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett’s travels to Amazonia in the 1920s. Hoping to discover a lost civilisation in the treacherous, unchartered jungle, Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) ignores the ridicule he faces from his contemporaries and devotes his life to his work. Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller co-star.
18. The Trap
Eta unknown
Spring Breakers writer/director Harmony Korine is behind this horror/crime-thriller starring James Franco, Robert Pattinson, Al Pacino and Benicio Del Toro. Korine has hinted that the film is the second part of his so-called ‘Florida Trilogy’. This time the action centres on an ex-convict and his quest for revenge against a gangster rapper friend who let him take the fall for a robbery they committed 14 years earlier. [Maria: I believe Franco is no longer involved, but then who knows with this film]
24. High Life
Eta late 2017Â [Maria: Â Actually High Life is due for release in 2018]
French master Claire Denis helms this Robert Pattinson-starring drama. Set in the future, it casts Pattinson, Patricia Arquette and Mia Goth as a group of criminals who accept a mission in space. In doing so they become the subjects of a human reproduction experiment. We couldn’t be more intrigued by this winning combination.

UPDATED: Â Extractof Media Release from @RamasScreen – go to Rama’s website to read full release
The film is now fully financed and supported by Arte France Cinema and CNC in France, Film and Medienstiftung NRW, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Filmförderungsanstalt, Arte/WDR and DFFF in Germany, developed with the British Film Institute and Altaris in Great Britain and financed by the Polish Film Institute in Poland. The producers aim to go into production in Spring 2017.
Lauren commented: “My family first turned me on to Claire Denis when they showed me “Beau Travail†and I’ve been a huge admirer of her work ever since. It’s very exciting to have Claire bring her ability to challenge how we think about the human condition and her unique visual style to the science fiction genre for the first time.â€
“High Life†is being scored by British musician Stuart Staples of Tindersticks, who has worked with Denis on numerous projects.  Her team also includes long-time collaborators Agnès Godard as DP and Nelly Quettier as editor. World-renowned physicist and black hole expert Aurélien Barrau is on board as the project’s scientific consultant.
By coming on to “High Lifeâ€, ALP moves towards its goal of producing and financing a robust and eclectic slate focused on commercial and elevated filmmaker-driven stories. [My emphasis]
Screen Daily on High Life – AFM Buzz Titles
Wild Bunch will show a promo reel for Luc Jacquet’s March Of The Penguins 2 — The Call and continue sales on Claire Denis’ High Life, starring Robert Pattinson, Patricia Arquette and Mia Goth, as well as a slew of Cannes 2017 hopefuls including Michel Hazanavicius’s Jean-Luc Godard tribute Redoubtable, which shot over the summer, and Arnaud Desplechin’s Ismael’s Ghosts. [My emphasis]
Screen Daily on Damsel – AFM Launches Ambitious Slate:
Robert Pattinson western, Michael Douglas-exec’d drama among 10-15 strong slate. [My emphasis]
Having previously invested in a number of films to have secured US deals this year, including Rachel Weisz drama Complete Unknown [pictured] which went to Amazon, and Christine Vachon-produced The Goat, which was sold to Paramount for the world, the three-year-old company is now going hard at the international film sales space on projects it has invested in at an early stage.
… Also on the slate are Damsel, with Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska …
There are around 20 of us that work at the company in the UK and probably another six in New York. We’re expanding,†Halmi Jr told Screen.
“The international market is critical for us in the types of elevated films we’re making.â€

Loving the slow drip of information coming out about Claire Denis’ “High Life”. We posted the other day about the character names and now thanks to Production Weekly, High Life is due to commence filming in Poland and Cologne in January 2017.
Â
Thanks Posh.
We already knew Robert was playing “Monte” in High Life.  We also knew the character name “Willow” and suspected Mia Goth might be playing the daughter, but I guess now we know for sure.
