Rob recently spoke to Premiere magazine for his Mickey 17 promo. Although we posted the translation (read the whole interview at hyerplink) IndieWire had this to say:
“Robert Pattinson recently shared how his co-star Zendaya eased his overthinking as an actor. Pattinson, who co-stars with the “Challengers” actress in Kristoffer Borgli’s upcoming A24 film “The Drama,” told French publication Premiere that Zendaya made him less “crazy” amid his dissection of the script.
We had a scene together that was driving me crazy,” Pattinson said of filming the feature. “I was desperately looking for its meaning, writing pages and pages of textual analysis. I ended up calling Zendaya the night before shooting the scene. I shared my doubts with her, I spoke for two hours, and after a while, very calmly, she made me understand that the line just said what it meant to say, that there was no hidden meaning.
He added, “And there I was going crazy for three days.”
Perhaps Pattinson’s analysis of the script is an indicator of just how twisted the film’s plot might prove to be, as filmmaker Borgli knows his way around messed-up stories. He previously helmed the trippy “Dream Scenario,” also for A24 and the darkly funny “Sick of Myself.” Also of note: “The Drama” is produced by horror and suspense mastermind Ari Aster.”

The date in the tweet below is 26 September 2025 and as Candy states – it’s a rumour. No date has been confirmed as yet, but I’ll take any news at the moment about this film.

There have been additional shoots (not involving Rob as far as we are aware) these past few weeks and Kristoffer Borgli confirmed on his IG today that it’s officially a wrap! Looking forward to this film.

In what appears to be an earlier interview with Collider, given that IMDbPro has the film in post production since 16 December 2024 (although some further shooting was reported to be happening) Mamoudou Athie confirms the following:
“Although he’s part of The Drama, he can’t necessarily spill the tea just yet. Little is known about the film thus far, other than rumors that it’s a romance set during a couple’s wedding that goes in an unexpected direction. … When asked if he could tease how it goes beyond the confines of just romance, he said, “I can’t tell you that,” but he did offer some praise for his co-stars and hinted that there are some real surprises in store for viewers. “It’s incredibly interesting and a beautiful cast. I’m very curious how it’s received.”
And Hailey Gates mentioned in a recent interview with IndieWire during her interview at Sundance for her directorial debut:
“[Hailey] Gates, who also just wrapped a part in Kristoffer Borgli’s upcoming “The Drama” for A24 …
As for what to expect from Borgli’s “The Drama”? Gates simply said, “It’s dramatic.””

The Drama director, Kristoffer Bogli, posted the photo below on his IG story today – excitement. Seems the film is in production.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Alana Haim has lined up two back to back feature gigs involving some bold-faced names.” What is interesting is that they have confirmed that Rob will start in The Drama with Zendaya:
“Haim has started production on The Mastermind, an art heist drama starring Josh O’Connor and directed by Kelly Reichardt. She will then jump into The Drama, a feature from Dream Scenario filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli that also stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.”
According to IMDB, filming is rumoured to commence on Monday 21 October 2024 with filming locations in Singapore, Tokyo, London, Paris and Boston. As we know, I’m not going to get excited until we actually see or hear that Rob is on set, but Zendaya is most definitely in Boston.

According to Deadline:
“Mamoudou Athie is in final talks to join the ensemble of A24 and Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama, with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson on board to star. Borgli will direct from a script he wrote. Alana Haim is also in talks to join the cast.”

According to Film Crave and the casting call below, looks like Rob will have a short break from filming Die, My Love in Calgary to filming “The Drama” with Zendaya if all reports are true that Rob is indeed involved. Nothing on A24’s site as yet, but it’s still early days.
‘THE DRAMA’ starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson will begin filming on October 21.

Seems to be raining “new project” or “potential projects” for Rob. Feels like the old days where we patiently waited for new movie news for Rob … I’ve been blogging about Rob for over 14 years and so many have not come to fruition, but it is always interesting to see what potential project Rob is considering becoming involved with. This week Deadline reported:
Following the acclaim of his most recent film Dream Scenario, director Kristoffer Borgli is reuniting with A24 and looks to have landed two of the town’s biggest names to star in his next film. Sources tell Deadline that A24 is set to finance and produce Borgli’s The Drama, with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in early negotiations to star. Borgli will direct from a script he wrote.
Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen and Tyler Campellone will produce under their Square Peg banner. Project details are under wraps, but rumors suggest it’s about a romance that takes an unexpected turn before a couple’s big day.
…
Following the Dream Scenario success last fall, A24 was high on working with Borgli again, but the project gained serious momentum after Zendaya showed a strong interest in starring. Pattinson followed later and, while deals still need to close, the project has now become a top priority at the studio.
