Josh Horowitz talked to Colin Farrell about The North Water (which is a book I’ve been meaning to read for eons) and of course The Batman. Here is a snippet of what Colin had to say – you can listen to the rest of the interview on either of the links below or at Spotify. His praise for Matt Reeves is so encouraging – not that I thought I could get more excited for this film.

Thanks @thebatfilm for heads up.

LOL I don’t think I’ve ever listened to a Colin Farrell interview before, but that was quite entertaining. “Fuckin’ Batman has Covid?” is such a classic comment. And I must say, listening to CF reminded me very much of listening to Charlie Hunnam ….. and I haven’t done that in a while. I wish CH could find a meaty role to get stuck into.

CH is the main character in Shantaram (TV series) which they started filming in India in 2019 but obviously is now on hold. I have been waiting for the adaption of this book since forever. Originally Johnny Depp bought the rights and was going to produce it with Warner Bros. I think the rights then expired. Last I had heard Paramount were involved and it was going straight to TV (I think Apple perhaps which I will have to subscribe to if this is ever finished). I can’t imagine anyone better than CH to play Lin (Gregory David Roberts).

Thanks Maria – good to know. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open for any word on Shantaram. I haven’t read the book but I like that you think that CH is a good fit for the role of Lin. Sounds promising.
