I’ve got a few but most memorable – waiting at Fox Studios for over 10 hours for Rob to arrive re BD2 Fan Event. Weather turned nasty just before Rob was set to appear. After a torrential storm we met Rob looking like drowned rats, but it was worth it. Rob’s a champion he still came out and spent loads of time with fans – as Vertigo and Sue will confirm.
This above photo was taken by me on the day – please credit RPAU if reposting as I do own copyright.
Craziest thing, yeah, that I am hung up on him at this age… a practical stranger, hopefully it is temporary, LOL. But I do have a tendency to adopt people/persons in my head and wishing them success. I don’t think I want to meet him — it would be too strange to want to meet him.
Craziest thing? LOL I’m DEFINITELY not sharing that publicly …..As for the torrential downpour at Fox Studios – OMG I think we were all a little delusional that day haha. But was it worth it? Absolutely! Even when you throw in flying down from Brisbane specifically for that event! I think it’s safe to say that Rob is the only celebrity I’ve EVER flown interstate to see. And it was SO worth it, that wild horses couldn’t keep me away the 2nd and 3rd times ……. Did my friends think I was a little crazy each time? Yep! Would I do it again? Yep!
Haha Sue. And it was the first time we met in person wasn’t it. Such a funny day – hot and humid, humid winds, gale force winds, torrential rain – then the sunshine came out (that’s Rob). Amazing and surreal memories.
We need more of them … just saying Rob.
Never say never PM. I’m still here 12 years later and I wasn’t expecting that although I am pretty loyal to my faves.
Just realised that Fox Studios was the 2nd time. The Remember Me premiere was the 1st. Literally flew down to Sydney for 24 hours, then flew back to Brisbane to hop on an international flight the very next day ……. crazy much???
Water For Elephants, not Remember Me!!! LOL
I was about to come on and say Water for Elephants. Remember Rob on stage with “let’s ava look atchya”. Reese wouldn’t let him speak – she’s such a bossy boots! I remember I was this close on the red carpet to tapping Rob on his shoulder when a crazy fan came screaming across from the other side and security went into overdrive to stop her from getting to Rob (which they did) but was swept up in the madness. I don’t know how he does it on a regular basis.
But Maria, you talked with him! You had a journalistic purpose to document for your blog. OTOH, I have no such reason to want to see him 🙂 If he ever gives a concert I might go for that. In fact, I think he should play guitar for lesser known bands and bring them up (like he did for Death Grips). I love the way he plays the guitar.
I will amend what I said a little. I would like to go to those promo interviews they do, like the NYC Lincoln center film society thing. But it is all too much work.
PM I would highly recommend going to a promo talk with Rob. I wish he would do more that I could get too. As for music … YES PLEASE.
His fingers are made to play guitar and piano. But mostly what I have noticed is he can do very intricate play/riffs with his guitar. I have such short fingers I can’t even imagine playing the piano or a stringed instrument though I did try when I was young.
