Willem Dafoe thanks Robert Pattinson in his acceptance speech
Rob lost to Adam Sander (I’m still bitter about that), but I loved how Willem Dafoe recognised his co-star and said “Lastly, it takes two to tango. He’s not here, but I share this with Rob Pattinson and remember it’s bad luck to kill a sea bird.” I thought it was extremely gracious of Willem.
Willem also shut down the questions directed to him backstage post win about Rob and The Batman (at about 1.48 and then again at 3.40) . It was fairly poor behaviour by these journos to try and get some exclusive when they should be focusing on his win and The Lighthouse. Congrats Willem you so deserved this award and recognition for an amazing performance.
Jarin Blaschke also won for cinematography. Here is his acceptance.
"The conditions were quite hard, there's freezing sleet in your face all the time. Equipment was breaking down, but it was much more comfortable than this." #TheLighthouse's Jarin Blaschke accepts the award for best cinematography at #SpiritAwards https://t.co/B4VTryg7O3 pic.twitter.com/SmgniMo0Kc

Dafoe is superb. He’s my eternal Sgt. Elias, from Platoon. Rob deserved to be nominated for a Golden globe and Oscar two, for his performance but his time Will come.
Sorry, I didn’t use the verb correctly. Rob should deserve and not deserved.
