Robert Pattinson attended Deirdre O’Callaghan’s book launch of “The Drum Thing” on 23 November 2016 held at Swing House according to LA Weekly:
The drummer-nerd factor in the room increases as it fills up, barely overshadowed by the presence of Kim Gordon, Fred Armisen and Robert Pattinson.
Below is an extract from Deirdre’s site *linked above*:
“THE DRUM THING†is a photographic and interview book project featuring some of the most unique drummers in the world today.
So far, I have photographed 100 drummers including names such as Tony Allen, Ginger Baker, Travis Barker, Cindy Blackman, Patrick Carney, Terri Lyne Carrington, Chris Dave, Jack DeJohnette, Bryan Devendorf, Sly Dunbar, Steve Gadd, James Gadson, Dave Grohl, Mark Guiliana, Steve Jordan, Jim Keltner, Airto Moreira, Larry Mullen Jr, Neil Peart, Questlove, Jim Sclavunos, Ringo Starr, Lars Ulrich, Joey Waronker and Jack White.
Each is photographed in their private rehearsal space – from studios, bedrooms and basements to garages and gardens. This access allowed me to observe their everyday environments, experience their styles of playing up close and capture as best as I could, the true essence of these artists’ personalities and lifestyles.
Shiny, shiny pants and bleach-blond hair
A double kick drum by the river in the summer
She fell in love with the drummer
Another and another
She fell in love
I miss the innocence I’ve known
Playing KISS covers, beautiful and stoned
