Looks like Italy will be getting a theatrical release of Queen of the Desert after all.  According to Mondo Fox Italy:

“Il film, in uscita il prossimo settembre nelle sale italiane, è stato presentato al Festival di Berlino 2015.”

“The movie, due out this September in Italian cinemas, was presented at the Berlin Film Festival 2015.” (Bing translation).
