Ladies as you all know I am a devoted fan of Rob, I love the fact he isn’t afraid to take on difficult roles my favourite Rob movies ,Cosmopolis,The Rover Life Remember Me. So I was looking forward to Queen of the Desert.
I never thought I would say this but to me Rob was wasted, his part is very small but when he is on screen he is wonderful. He nailed the T E Lawrence character, but he is not on screen long enough. more focus was on Gertrude Bell’s affairs with Henry Cadogan (James Franco) and Charles Doughty -Wylie (Damian Lewis) the love scenes with James Franco where awkward, Rob only seemed to pop on screen a few times. What a waste of his talent. Gertrude Bell and T E Lawrence were good friends it was Lawrence who helped her establish the Hashemite
Dynasties in what now is Jordan and Iraq. I give the movie 3 stars and the three are all for Rob who nailed the awkward T E Lawrence, when he appears on screen it lights up for a short time.
