Well my excitement that Kit Harrington and Dakota Fanning had joined Brimstone was short lived.  See Deadline article.  I feel like someone has poured a bucket of water over me because then people were telling me Rob’s pulled out.  Rhonda sent me Andreas Wiseman’s tweet.  I somehow missed the news that Rob and Mia both dropped out Brimstone.  This is what happens when you stop and have a life away from the internet.

Devastated.  #notreally

Thanks Rhonda and everyone else who responded to my “show me the money” tweet.

The Hollywood Reporter:

“Kit will in the film play an outlaw who has a crucial role in the tale of retribution, replacing Robert Pattinson who was announced as taking on the role during the Berlin film festival and market.”

Screen Daily:

“Producer Els Vandevorst explained the cast changes to Screen: “Mia Wasikowska left the film due to unforeseen personal circumstances and Dakota Fanning immediately jumped into the leading starring role. Kit Harington was so consistently passionate about the script  that his enthusiasm and total creative commitment made him a must for the role which had been lined up by Pattinson.”

If I didn’t say I was upset about hearing this news I’d be a liar. I know we don’t know the details but all I can see is three movies that Rob was attached to not going ahead with Rob. Actually four with Hold onto Me. I’m glad that we at least have QOTD, Life and COAL to look forward to. I’m kinda nervous about Lost City. Sorry to be a downer, hoping to hear some good Rob news soon.

Actually, it must be no big deal if Rob pulled out. Again, sorry for the negative vibe above.

That’s okay @Silvie you’re allowed to feel disappointed. It’s not just Rob though – Mia is no longer involved too. It’s how the industry works. I’m hoping Rob’s been offered something else he wanted to do more *lookstoheavensandhopesitswarmachine*. And we could all wake up tomorrow to some incredible news or not. Time will tell.

Also I’m with you about being nervous about LCoZ, but that’s more because of the logistics involved with a film like that. And I sound like a broken record and I’m glad I’ve got Vertigo as a witness, but Benedict Cumberbatch couldn’t stress enough how hard it was going to be for that film to come together purely because of the locations that needed for filming and then lining everyone up.

Oh …….. BUM. Bum. Bum. Bum.

So, that may not be QUITE the word I said in my head as I read this post, but ……

NOTE TO THE GODS. Don’t you DARE even THINK of messing with the Pattinson/Hunnam combo we’re waiting for, or I’ll….I’ll…..I’ll. Oh shit. I’ll think of something ……

On a positive note ~ that little Ice Challenge gif never gets old! Love it!

    OH! Oh! Oh! Nooooooo!

I am NOT getting used to this. Not only do we miss seeing Rob in what I think will be a great movie but no Promo tour with Guy?? That is a tragedy

However, there must be reasons. As a fan, what else could I do but support Rob? I wonder what is on the horizon.

LOL @Sue – maybe we should do a Kickstarter to raise extra money for LCoZ – you know as back up in case they claim logistics. I will be gutted to say the least. More than Rob and DeNiro.

Disappointing news to say the least, however, forever positive, as I am sure there is something better to come. Meanwhile, I am so looking forward to the three Rob has made. Thanks for these updates Maria.

Disappointed TOO but hey: AMEN! I just hope it’s for another project sake. Never liked the director though.

Thanks @Maria, interesting that Mia has pulled out too considering she was the heroine. So be it.

    Thank you, Maria!

🙁 That’s why I am now taking “Damitol” as it helps…sorta lol (just kidding…read it again!)

    What a bummer!!

Maybe, hopefully, it’s on to bigger and better opportunities for him!

I think it is @Sanguine. It’s possible that with Mia pulling out it changed the filming dates and Rob is committed to LCoZ in August so …. and we don’t know what else he has been having meetings in LA with of late. Martin Kookhoven did respond to people’s accusation that Rob was dumped with “Nobody just get’s axed. Mia had to pull out for pers. reasons, so everything changed. This stuff happens”. I kind of feel for Koolhoven – he’s trying to shoot a film not be Dear Dolly Doctor lol.
