For those who are new to RPAU and may not have understood Jules’ tweet that she was watching Bel Ami as homework for Golden Years, I thought I’d shed some light.  Back in 2010 we decided to run a series called “Golden Years of Rob on Screen 2004-2010 “.   As Vertigo mentioned back in 2010 “we love nothing more than to celebrate Rob and his career on a daily basis, we will be bringing you a series of goodness as we take a closer look at and appreciate Rob’s on screen performances“.

I’m happy to say that the continuation of this series is coming … we left off at Eclipse so we have a few more films to share and celebrate.  During the series we focus on one of Rob’s films for a week and we each post our favourite scene, a montage, some gifs or whatever takes our fancy.  We might even do little vids and snippets of interviews.  You never know when the post will appear or what we’ve decided for that day.  But to get you in the mood, here’s some examples of what you should expect:

Toby Smoking Is Bad For Health:

Here’s Vertigo’s favourite scene from Remember Me ( “French Toast Anyone?” – love reading what we were thinking back then)

No surprises that Michelle treated us to some amazing gifs during the series, like the one below of Daniel (click here to see the rest)

And of course we were yet to meet Eric Packer, so I was still madly obsessive with Salvador, so here’s my favourite scene from Little Ashes:

Welp read my post – seems I’m yet to put that soapbox away – well at least we know things never change at RPAU – our focus always has and will be on Rob and his career.

You can see all the previous Golden Year posts for each individual film completed by us on our Films page here

In the meantime, the movies won’t be in chronological order so will it be Edward BD1&2, Eric, Georges or Jacob up next ….  stay tuned!

2010 ~ a year to remember for me, as I stumbled across both Rob and RPAU early that year, realised I had been living under a rock …… and life has never been quite the same since.

Can’t wait for the next instalment of The Golden Years ~ so much to look forward to, I can hardly wait.

@Maria, you have a soapbox? Noooooooooooooooo! *giggles*. As for the image of you ‘speechless and blubbering’ ………. is there a gif for that, too?

LOL @Cindy & @Sue – few people can cause that in me “speechless & blubbering” and Rob is one of them 😀 No gifs … yet. I was hoping Eric would give me one during his meltdown but alas was not to be

Hiya @Sue, I’m with you, I think I stumbled on Rob/RPAU simultaneously about that time….have never looked anywhere else since, for my Rob news & appreciation. The Golden Years were amazing then & I’m so excited Maria that you are doing this again. I’ve never forgotten the smokin’ vid – and I don’t like smoking as a general rule. It’s a testament to both Rob & Maria how hot this vid is….. Oh & I think it was about then I realised how good the soundtracks to all things Rob would be on this site 😀

Looking back at these posts brings such great memories. I still can’t believe it was 2010!
So looking forward to the continuation and Rob has given us so many more treats over these past years, should make for some good fun. 😀

Wow I can’t believe that was back in 2010. Wow how time flies. That’s about the time I found you girls, my home finally!

I remember watching the Golden Years and being afraid to comment. Don’t ask me why, I guess because I was in idiot. But I finally did and I have loved every second on this site.

I am so looking forward to the new Golden Years! Thank you so much girls!
