George Stroumboulopoulos (and yes I can pronounce George’s surname easy) asked Sarah during his interview who has more diehard fans – Rob or Viggo Mortensen – seeing as Vertigo falls into both camps, I thought I would post and see if she agrees with Sarah’s response.

“Who’s got crazier fans
GS: Who’s got crazier fans – well, let’s call them ‘passionate’ fans, Viggo Mortensen or Robert Pattinson?
SG: You know I thought it would be Rob, but then when we were in Venice Viggo has some diehard fans, and they just they love him! They freak out for him. But you know Rob doesn’t even have fans … he has this like, CIA. They know where he is, they know everything, they know every detail – they’re on it, so….
GS: That means you’re in it! You know we have a photograph here – every time there’s a photo of you and him together … [this is actually a great shot of the two of you in a scene] …when you get caught up in that, does your life change at all, in any way?
SG: Well, I think when we were shooting I made a really strong effort to not pay attention to any press, or anything, because you’re so involved in your characters and in your work, and you don’t want anything on the outside to inform this working relationship that you’re creating, and so I really tried to block that out, but then afterwards when the shooting finished and people kept saying things to me I kind of thought wow you know – maybe that really was a whirlwind that we were caught up in. “
This is apparently a teaser from the full interview which is airing this evening in Canada (if it hasn’t already). Thanks to Deb at CosmopolisFilm.
Can I just say – it takes a lot for me to fangirl over an actress. I tend to do it over Meryl Streep and occasionally Julianne Moore and Hilary Swank. I think I now have to add Sarah to that list. She reminds me of a female version of Rob – she just has a presence about her.
Completely agree Maria, it is VERY rare for me to fangirl over any actress, but I just love Sarah. She is gorgeous in every way. Very much a female Rob – absolutely.
How fantastic is it going to be seeing the two of them together promoting Cosmopolis. Both so intelligent & well spoken. Not to mention humble & gorgeous. I just cannot wait!
Oh Sara is so adorable, just love her and the way she can be diplomatic, for example with the use of the term CIA as opposed to other descriptions. Too funny.
I agree with what Sara says about Viggo’s fans, they are very passionate but not to the point of scarey. They love, adore and worship the ground he walks on and from the people I’d met back in the day, they never hunt the man down, so that much is definitely true. Viggo’s fans remind me a lot more of the majority of the supporters we have found here at RPAU. JMO.
Thanks @Vertigo and to prove what a honey Sarah is – I tweeted her and she responded

I love your comment that Sarah reminds you of a female version of Rob. I woke up thinking about that (I know, I’m cray cray) how Sarah and Rob both disappear into a role completely. She’s lovely and charming too, just like Rob.
P.S. Your banner is AMAZING. I get hypnotized by it every time I stop by. 🙂
Love Sarah, ITA about her being like a female Rob. Could listen to her talk over and over and cannot wait to see them together!!!,
Re the tweet, now that is awesome!!!
She honestly seems like a beautiful person inside and out. A class act and I can’t wait to see more of the Cosmopolis promo as it comes along – just so exciting!!
From what I’ve seen of Sarah, I totally get your comparisons to a female Rob. Good luck to her/them for this movie – it’s going to be epic. 🙂 Looking forward to seeing more of her work too. *thumbs up*
Thanks @deb re the banner, I think I almost peed my pants when Jules unveiled it to us.
Sarah is amazing – I’m going to search for some of her work to watch. There’s just a realness about her – she doesn’t pimp Rob’s name just to get herself in the limelight and her responses to any questions about him are always insightful and gracious. See I told you she makes me fangirl – so rare for me when it comes to women. I often call myself a misogynist, but maybe I just have high expectations of the qualities I consider a female role model should have.
Classy talented beautiful Sarah Gadon.
