You read that right.  Both films have been submitted to the Oscar Committee and are now being considered for nomination.  It would be amazing if Little Ashes was nominated – sorry New Moon not that I would be disappointed if NM was instead either, but Little Ashes in my opinion is far more worthy of an Oscar nomination.  However, let’s not get too excited even if it is a step in the right direction – ok maybe a little excited since I would never have guessed that Robert Downey Jr would be nominated for Best Actor from Tropic Thunder.  So you just never never know what the Oscar Committee is thinking.  We always say we believe Rob will one day be nominated, so hopefully this is an omen even though it’s not for best actor category – yet.  Thanks to the gorgeous Kate at our friends and elite affies ROBsessed and Mira for the tip.

This is such exciting news. It would be absolutely amazing if LA especially was nominated. Most definitely so Oscar worthy that is for sure. Keeping everything crossed for both films. I cannot wait for the day when Rob’s Oscar nomination is announced & that day will most definitely come, just know it. Thanks for the post Maria & adore that pic.

Morning Girls I agree with both of you, it’s only a matter of time before Rob gets nominated.

@Jane – thanks for the comment, but don’t get offended I’ve edited. We don’t want to talk about the script on the site – sorry. Please everyone – the scripts leaked – we know it’s leaked, but we don’t want to get into a debate about it.

Sorry Maria I just got so dissapointed with it. However reading the books and putting Rob in my mind always makes it right

No worries @Jane – personally I’m waiting for Bel-Ami so I’m not too fussed about the next 2 (or dare I say 3 Twi movies). I will see them to support Rob, but if he wasn’t in it I wouldn’t bother since NM, after my initial impression, actually left me disappointed.

OMG LA deserves recognition at this level, so fricken exciting that it’s even being considered!!
Anything NM related is welcome too, but only if it’s in relation to Rob’s performance – anything else would just be a slap in the face.

@tessANZ – I haven’t forgotten about trying to get LA to NZ, but Kojo’s offices are closed until next week and so I’ll speak with them then. The LA DVD probably won’t be released in Australia/NZ until middle of the year or a little sooner, and I know that you all will go out and buy a copy, but I have to ask, please don’t promote online viewing on the site. And I’m apologising upfront if you think I’m being anal today, but we know Justin Kelly from How To Be Films and we understand completely how these indie films rely on cinema releases and DVD sales to make any kind of money. Little Ashes is also an indie film – although we don’t know Paul Morrison 🙁 We support Rob 100% in his indie choices and I’m only hopeful that we will get to see him in even more in the future and that Hollywood doesn’t have a complete control over him. But more importantly the indie film industry relies on us (well not me and Michelle personally) to keep them afloat & I’m a little passionate about that.

o.O! I totally agree about supporting the little (Indie) guys and do so..( I have so many DVD Indie films, I have a jewel on my forehead and belly dance in my yoga pants. jes kiddin…

Not to mention the fact that I gotta have that hot little DVD of LA to see certain parts on a BIG screen (in the privacy of my own home) of course! LOL!

So So Sorry….Mumz da word..I will not reveal my sources OR mention on line viewing (here) at’ll evah, evah agin!

Yes, Robert is a great actor and I believe that he will get Oscar for the leading part -maybe not yet. He really deserve to be nominated for the Little ashes, although he is very, very good in the New Moon, too. I also like him very much in How to be.

Let’s hope some good indie parts come Rob’s way.
Totally agree Maria – the internet must be used for only for good, not evil.
