inglorious-basterds2

I swear if Rob has to pull out of yet another great film because of the Twilight Saga I’m going to scream (I’m just saying that because I’ve heard a rumour that Breaking Dawn is going to be split into 3 films – please like one isn’t going to be bad enough to sit through – freaky freaky film).  Anyway there is an article by CMaher of Movie Hunger at Celebriosity Today that gives us a little insight into Bel Ami  and I do mean little:

New Moon movie star Robert Pattinson seems to love taking on new movie roles that turn him into a character of mystery and culture. First the actor took on the role of Salvador Dali in the movie production of Little Ashes and now his future may be that of scandalous Frenchman.

Director Declan Donnellan plans to bring the short story of Guy de Maupassant to life on the movie screen with Bel Ami. It’s rumored that movie star Robert Pattinson will take on the role of Georges Duroy in the film. The movie will be focused around the life of Georges Duroy’s life as he goes from being an Ex-NCO to a very successful and wealthy businessman.

Robert Pattinson thought that his love scenes as Salvador Dali in Little Ashes were awkward, I wonder how he is going to feel courting several women at once as Georges Duroy? Why? Well the way that this character raises him to the top is by having affairs with several notable and wealthy women.”

Okay well the film is listed on Rob’s IMDb page as “In Development” so I guess you can’t really say that Rob’s “rumoured” to be in it, although what you could say is that he may not be in it because it either doesn’t get the go ahead or “scheduling” conflicts – yes I am still not over that he had to pull out of Parts Per Billion because of New Moon (oh but thanks to New Moon he’s now a “movie star” -  lol). Sorry I do love him as Eddie, but I love him more as Dali.

And has CMaher actually seen or heard of Little Ashes?  I’m not sure how you can compare the awkwardness of love scenes with Javier Beltram to courting 3 women at the same time (CMaher – I don’t believe there is a menage a trois in the film – although you can correct me if I wrong, but I believe you may be thinking of a different Bel Ami – hmmm).  Anyway if you want to read the rest of the article, please click on the link above.  Again thanks to our affiliate Thinking of Rob for the tip.

3 BD movies – when I read that I freaked out a little bit, well actually I freaked out a lot. I agree Maria, the thought of 1 movie is bad enough. Is going to be an odd odd movie. I too am going to scream if Rob has to pull out of another great movie due to the Twilight saga. Am still not over PPB either. I love him as Eddie of course, but I just hate to think he is missing out on other great & better opportunities because of it.

I think this CMaher definitely needs to do some more research for sure. Bet he has never even seen LA.

I really hope this movie gets the green light too. Rob would be so so amazing in this role.

I’m with you on this one Maria.

The role of Georges Duroy is perfect for Rob and will show the movie world just what he can do. Likewise, upset would be a understatement on my part should he have to pull out of this great project because of BD. I will check the novel again, but I’m sure there’s no menage a trois, two women at the same maybe.

I have for sometime pondered on how BD can be made into a film – a single film? There is so much put into one novel action / storywise. Another problem of a sequential film is that the orginal character actors cannot be eternally youthful forever – hence replacement actors along the way, etc.

I also regard Little Ashes as one of Rob’s best performances to date, I just love him as Dali in that film. Fingers and toes crossed Bel Ami will take place.

I hope someone at Summit has some good sense! Goodness, they DO NOT NEED to make 3 movies out of BD… I thought it was a bit much at 2 movies… Please Summit… don’t do three BD movies.. we don’t need 3

I loved Rob As Dali.. loved him as Art… Love him as Daniel… loved him as Toby..I love him as Edward too.. but please… let it be.. let’s put the vampires back into hiding.. they don’t like all this exposure… 🙂

I can not wait to see Remember Me.. I’m one of the ones who read the early version of the script and if they stayed true to the story I know this will be wonderful. no matter what script changes they made. Wonderful? it’s gonna be…. gaaahhh … I don’t want to give anything away… I just can’t wait to see it..

I’m hoping for Bel Ami… can’t wait to see what Rob will do with that role.

I can’t get enough of Edward Cullen….but he could portray an egg and i’d still think he was awsome. (Thinks of Edward again) (and again)…(and again)….have a nice day guys…..(Edward…..)

I too think this movie is perfect for Rob and will once again showcase his talent as an actor as Little Ashes did. I really hope that he doesn’t have to pull out of this movie. If he does because of BD then I blame it all on Summit! I love the Twilight saga, but I think he really needs to make this movie and be able to do “living” roles.
