Thanks to ET Online, here is a video of Rob, being auctioned at the amfAR gala. They’ve also included a short paragraph to explain the video:
The vampy leading man was auctioned off today in Cannes for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS 2009 Cocktail Party. The bidding got so high that Pattinson was split between two bidders, who each paid $20,000 for the chance to meet, greet and win a kiss on the cheek from the ‘Twilight’ idol. Watch the video to see Harvey Weinstein introduce a blushing Rob. Movie mogul Harvey explains that all three of his young daughters want to marry the actor!
So now we know for sure why he was at the amfAR gala. Rob the philanthropist, I like the sound of that!
Awwwwww… Rob! He looks so embarrassed!!! A good “embarrassed”, though :)…
$20,000 + $20,000 well spent, may I say, and not just for Rob’s kiss! 😀
“$5” yeah, right! Rob, you don’t know what you’re talking about! Hahaha!
I could see that he wanted to talk more, I wish they had let him… he would have come up with something hilarious, I bet!
Thank you so much for posting this video Cilla. Rob is just so lovely. Such a special person. Not only beautiful on the outside but so beautiful on the inside too. He deserves only the best things to come his way.
I agree Michelle. So beautiful – I hope he doesn’t get sucked up by the Hollywood vortex. Weinstein makes me nervous.
I hope so too, Maria, and I agree about Harvey Weinstein… he creeps me out, to be honest…
But I think Rob will be fine… let him go back to London where his mother still calls him an idiot: he’ll be back in touch with reality in a split second and things will go back to normal! Hahaha! 😉
I’m not worried about Rob changing, I doubt that would happen. What I meant is that Weinstein is ruthless – you don’t get to where he is without being so. The fact that he has zeroed in on Rob is what makes me nervous. Good for Rob if it goes well, but if it doesn’t ….
Oh, OK, I think I see what you mean, now: if Rob gets on Weinstein’s wrong side, he might find it difficult to find work as an actor. Did I get that right?
I truly hope it never gets to that, but if it did, I would imagine Rob would still find a way to do something that makes him happy. There would still be small independent (not necessarily American) productions where HW wouldn’t have a hand, there would still be theatre. Most of all, he would still have his music… and his integrity and peace of mind, I would hope. As long as he has that…
Who knows, considering what he’s going through, a fall-out with Big Harvey might even turn out to be a blessing in disguise… at least, I would hope that’s what would happen, if it came to that…
No I can’t imagine Rob getting on Weinstein’s bad side (how would he do that – it’s rhetorical I don’t expect you to answer it), but rather that Weinstein would not see him as bankable (I might be naive, but I doubt Weinstein’s influence is limited to the US). I don’t want my comment (due to my paranoia for Rob) to turn into a forum of what MIGHT happen. Let’s just focus on the positive things happening to him at the moment.
OK, I got it and I agree :).
*channels positive vibes towards Rob*
