I have a feeling that after New Moon comes out the ‘team edward’ and team jacob camps are going to be a lot more evenly divided.

I love Rob though, and his hair looks great ( they were so worried about him chopping off the earlier style)

OK, first of all: Rob looks lovely as usual in this poster. Love the clothing, the jawline, the hands, the chest hair, aaaand I better stop there!

However, I am actually very surprised to see Edward so prominent, right at the front, since his role is supposed to be limited in New Moon, and to see Jacob and Bella practically in the background, instead.

*If* it’s the real thing, it does not make much sense, to me.

I think I would have flipped their positions: Bella with Jacob front and central; Edward back to back with Jacob, looking behind to Bella, who in turn would be looking at Edward beyond Jacob’s shoulder. You would still have Jacob “protecting” Bella from the “bloodsucker” (lol), but it would reflect the balances within the film more, in my opinion.

Athena I see your point – but I think what they are trying to portray is that Jacob almost comes between Edward and Bella. Edward may not be in the book physically but he is constantly in Bella’s thoughts. It is him – it’s always been him.

I see what you mean, Maria, about Jacob coming between Bella and Edward (he is the one real obstacle who could have torn them apart, in my opinion) and I agree with you that in Bella’s mind, it’s always been Edward.

That’s why I would have liked Bella to be looking at Edward beyond Jacob’s shoulder: because although Jake is physically a bigger presence (symbolised, for me, by the front central position) in Bella’s life, she is still always thinking of Edward, who, as you say, though physically not there (hence why I’d have put him in the background), is always spiritually present.

Mind you, I’m not REALLY complaining to see Rob front and central! 😀
