Our affiliate, Pattinson Anonymous has a source who is able to to tell us a bit more on Rob’s role in ‘Unbound Captives’. They’re asking you to please note that there’s no confirmation from anyone on Rob’s team that he’s signed on for this project, (although Variety is usually accurate with their information).
Here is a short snippet on Rob’s role in ‘Unbound Captives’.
Age:Â The character is shown first at age 10, then again at approximately 17
- As indicated in information published on the internet, Phineas was kidnapped as a child and assimilated in a Comanche tribe.
-
Phineas (all descriptions here are of the character at age 17) is described as having long hair and pierced ears, presumably in the 19th-century Comanche style.
-
Virtually all of his lines are in Comanche.
-
The character’s Comanche name is Tsomo, which means “beadâ€.
-
Yes, he rides a horse…bareback. He rides quite a bit, actually.

I think Cilla (and Maria) has just found the role Rob mentioned where he speaks a language he doesn’t know… and I was thinking something along the lines of Finnish for some irrational reason… Hahaha!
Now I am *really* excited to see this one! Rob as an adopted Native American… F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!!! I am truly curious about how the make up will turn out…
Piereced ears? I wonder if he is going to have them really pierced or just “glue” the earrings on his lobes…
Thanks Cilla! 😀
Athena – I’m glad the language thing seems to be sorted.
Thanks for this post Cilla.
The words “fierce and “Warrior” – *heartbounding visuals* right there. I’d like to get passed these aspects of the character description and move into the challenges and rich material Rob will have to work with – I just can’t…we are talking wild hair and intense stares. Give me a moment.
Yep Rob speaking Comanche – and not just “wild hair” and “intense stares” – but also angry Rob. I’d say he’s in a little more than a third of the film, probably half and it’s a great role. Like I mentioned Athena – not sure if I’d go as far as phenomenal but it is definitely challenging for him – could we ask for anything more. Oh and the horseback -which there is quite a bit of – Rob – you better be careful – you will be testing your athletic ability for sure.
@ Vertigo: girl, you just crack. me. up!!! Actually, I think I need a moment, too…
@ Maria: oooooh!!! Angry Rob!!! I think we had a taste with Toby Jugg (and with Art, sort of), but I think this particular anger might well be something else… maybe less restrained… Rob letting it all out… wow!
I agree with you, Maria, what truly thrills me is the challenges Rob is taking with each of these new roles… there lies my true excitement. I can’t really wait to see how he takes them on!
As for riding… who knows, it might turn out that he’s actually better on a horse than on foot! Hahaha!
Sorry, Rob, just poking good-humoured fun at you ;)!
Nope – nothing like Toby or Art. Phineas is definitely far removed from anything Rob has done. I cannot wait for this role. They are saying it might be released towards second half of 2010. Time will tell.
Yes, it does sound like something completely different from anything he has ever done. Language, culture, beliefs, attitude towards life… lots of work for you, Rob! Good! 😀
End of 2010… yes, my Rob-year is definitely covered! 😀 Now, if they would only confirm Bel-Ami, my bliss would be complete! 😉
Athena – I’m hoping that Rob may confirm something about Bel Ami when he’s on Le Grand Journal tomorrow – fingers crossed.
You’re right! He might well do it, since he’s in France! I have both my toes and fingers crossed. And I’m going to light a candle tonight, for good measure ;)!
