30 Days of Night

David Slade, who’s been chosen as the director of Eclipse (click here for a link to Summit Entertainment’s website), has written an official email for the Twilight fans to address their concerns over some negative comments he made in regards to Twilight.

Here’s the email which he sent to Twilight Lexicon (in his own words and unedited):

Dear Laura and Lori

I would be grateful if you could distribute this statement to the fans of Twilight:I would like to address some statements that I made regarding Twilight.

When I made these comments, I had neither seen the film nor read the books. I was promoting a comedy short film that I had made for Xbox and every pop culture subject was seen as a possible comedy target. I was being silly and none of the statements were from the heart.

Of course, I have since seen the movie and read the books and was quickly consumed with the rich storytelling and the beautifully honest characters that Stephenie Meyer created.

I would like to reassure everyone involved that I am invested in making the best film that I am humanly capable of, and that I am acutely aware of the power of the original books we serve.

Please be rest assured this statement is absolutely from the heart.

yours sincerely

DAVID SLADE”

I hope he means what he said because Eclipse is such a good book. I love the love triangle between Edward, Bella & Jacob  and the fighting scene in the end is going to be really good (if it’s done well…). Anyway, we just have to wait and see.

I think he might be made of the stuff they need to pull off the fight scene in the end (hopes). Haven’t had a chance to do alot of research on him as yet, but the fact he does “dark” may seal the deal.

He only apologized for his nasty comments because summit told him to do it. If he was really sorry he would have done it eons ago. David, wanna know what I think? Put down your two index fingers in the pic above and you have my answer!

if it is possible to have a fave in the series (and I am not sure it is…) eclipse would be mine.
This guy…totally unconvinced by him, the word arrogant comes to mind…hate to be negative…but…i’m totally unconvinced…if he kills eclipse, i’ll kill him:)

I should add though…that I am open to being pleasantly surprised:)

I am open to surprise too, but I’m a little nervous about this guy. Backpedallling already and the film hasn’t even begun. He will be crucified if he ruins Eclipse. BTW Bluebell – hilarious.

“if he kills eclipse, i’ll kill him:)”

    Hahaha! Gotta agree with that!

I, too, think this is just damage control and “too little, too late”… but I did like 30 days of night, so… who knows… I just hope he will understand what the film is about and stick to the books… therefore, fingers crossed!
