Rob spoke with Brigitte Baronnet from AlloCine France during the Sebastian Film Festival and this is what he had to say about working with Claire Denis and #HighLife:

Does the film look like what you imagined?
Robert Pattinson: I did not know what to expect. I did not have expectations in the good sense of the word. Because when you see movies like Beau Travail, you can feel so much, without necessarily understanding everything. I just know it’s great. I had complete confidence in what Claire wanted. But I found the film funnier than I had imagined. I laughed at the movie the first time. Maybe someone somewhere will find it funny too!

Tell us about your experience working with Claire Denis
Robert Pattinson: It’s a truly unique person. I had met him several times over the years. You can watch his films and tell you: but who is this person? I love spending time with her. She can be both very warm and very strange. It can happen to lunch together without talking to us, but without being uncomfortable, and there are very few people with whom it is possible.Or she will tackle topics out of nowhere.

And on the set, she’s very funny.  Most of us did not know exactly what the story was about, but we had such faith in her. Everyone was very involved in the film and supported what she was doing. Claire inspires that, she’s a beautiful person. It was a good working environment. 

And Juliette had this to say about working with Rob:

How was it working with Robert Pattinson?
Juliette Binoche: It was great.  We knew each other a little Cosmopolis. 
He asked a lot of questions. To feel like an outsider, like his character. 
We exchanged a lot. I became more acquainted than on Cosmopolis. 
He probably needed to talk because he was often alone with this little girl. The first three weeks he was alone with her. So when we arrived, we were like saviors! It’s very easy to work with him. He is very involved and he enjoyed working with Claire Denis. It was a good working relationship.
