Monday you spoil us so.  THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: Excitement ramped up by 1000 – I don’t know how Carmel can stay away from trailers, but I take my hat off to her. I of course can’t.  How many days … thank GOD it’s playing at Sydney Film Festival because I need to see this film. I like that some trailer comments were “definitely keeping an eye on this one”. Even Michael Epp is excited. BamCinemaFest has scheduled their North American premiere of the film for 23 June and London is also unleashing the film in the Best Feature competition at EastEnd Film Festival on 1 July 2016. Have to thank Metrodome for giving us another great still of Robert as Charles Marker. I’ve also updated the movie review roundup given the release in Sweden – espeicially when you see quotes like “[Pattinson] once again in a small role, proving why he is something more than the actor who once played an iconic glittery vampire.” QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  I updated the Australian cinemas post with a few more cinemas – there’s definitely a much wider release for this film which is great. We also now have a release date for New Zealand in June and Italy has confirmed the DVD|Bluray release date in July. I also tweeted a link to a really good read about Gertrude Bell if anyone is interested. Oh and remember when we posted that Italy was getting the film in September? I’ve been told by an Italian cinema that QotD will be seen on screens in Italy “in the fall”. LIFE:  The release date for Brazil has been pushed back a few weeks in July. Film1 in the Netherlands is screening the film from June to July. And I found that Thailand released their DVD & Bluray on 20 April 2016. Better late than never for those who like to collect DVDs from different regions. LOST CITY OF Z: I tweeted that Elite is most definitely the distributor for The Lost City of Z in Switzerland. No release dates as yet, but watch this space.  Also, Deadline reported that promo footage was shown at Cannes. DIOR: Wowza those Peter Lindbergh shots. I can’t stop staring at them. THE ROVER: Theirry Fremaux says some lovely things in his introductory video for Canal+Cinema’s 10 movies that are screening as part of a look back over the Cannes Film Festival.  Some nice footage of Robert (and David) too. Correction: Thanks to Pattinson Art Work The Rover screened on 18 May not 22 May as we suggested. #WeGOforRob $30,000 for Robert’s 30 years – easy peasey. Have to take my hat off to all of Robert’s fans who have contributed – wonderful effort, but even if you are unable to contribute financially, just retweeting or if you’re not on Twitter – letting others know about what GO Campaign does is showing support. IN OTHER NEWS:  If you are in the Czech Republic then you’re lucky enough to have Cosmopolis and The Rover on your TV screens. Also for those who have access to HBO Now in the US, Maps to the Stars will be available from 1 June. As we wait for news on High Life filming, Creative Artists and Wild Bunch (both Sales Representatives) were added to High Life’s IMDbPro page. That’s good to see. Surprisingly I don’t have as much to say this week so until next Sunday …
