According to the current Studio Canal Australian release schedule (as at November 2015), The Lost City of Z is listed for a “wide” release some time in 2016. Of course there is a possibility that this will change, since RPAU was told earlier this year it may be released in early 2017 or possibly at the end of 2016. Also it lists Bastille Day as 3 March and that’s not being released in Aussie cinemas until 12 May 2016. The real reason I’m posting this isn’t so much because of the 2016 date, but more so because of the reference to “wide” release. I realise that LCoZ is a different beast in comparison to some of Robert’s recent indie films, but it is still good to have it in print and  I know that will make a lot of Aussies happy who have missed out due to the “limited” release of recent films. I can say that it is definitely making ME very happy.

Wonderful news. Every time I see a Limited Release I think of poor Michelle and others in a similar boat.
