This is a great interview of Anton talking to Studio Universal during the Guanajuato International Film Festival.  Anton talks about James Dean, why and how he filmed “Life”, Dennis Stock’s photography and current digital technology.  You know how much I love listening to the minds of directors.  Enjoy

Fantastic thanks Maria I love to get an insight into the directors mind too especially the ones Rob is working with
How fabulous, what a great snippet! I must admit, I had previously wondered about LIFE not being filmed in black & white, but Anton’s explanation makes a lot of sense. I love his calmness as he speaks – I can imagine him being a great director to work with.
Thanks Maria, very interesting.
Oh wonderful! I loved his summary of Stock’s work. Perfect. And I agree with him re the darkroom discoveries. The impatient agitations of the developing process. The delight of seeing your images appear in tray as you loving slip the photographic paper backwards and forwards through the liquid chemicals, gently coating them. Terrifying, exciting times. I miss them
Have I said how excited I am for this film?
