Carmel gave me the idea for this with her comment about the Details photoshoot. Remember where you were or what you were supposed to be doing the day these photos came out …  Rob on the cover of GQ magazine 2009.  These are the first photos I saved.   Am pretty sure I was at work and productivity went out the window … Happy Monday people!

Bwahahaha – They really should have declared a GQ public holiday.

The mag hit the shelves right at the beginning of my obsession ( or ‘loyalty’, as, I think it was Trish, coined it). I was still in denial that a grown women – me – could fan girl and by a magazine for a pretty face. So I walked on by every newsagent. Then, about 4 days later I gave in and hurried out to buy it, only to learn they had sold out. I was devastated. I tried eBay to learn they were going for 75 pounds. I wasn’t that loyal.
Then I discovered the internet. My Rob files started then. My God, I could have GQ Rob without the magazine! Yay! – Plus – I found RPAU after a bit. Double Yay!
I finally got myself a actual copy of GQ years later and I took it with me to the Breaking Dawn event and Rob signed it. ROB SIGNED IT!
Maria – I hope you can see how much I like this post by my gushing

The day they released GQ was the end of the world as we knew it.

@Carmel, what a wonderful story! I, too, missed out on this magazine (and many others with Rob on the cover) because I hadn’t yet discovered him. How is this possible, I hear you all ask?! Like, where the hell was I when the whole Twi thing exploded? As hard as it is to believe, I’d never heard of Twilight until six months after New Moon came out at the cinemas. I guess I live a pretty isolated life! It was actually my partner (who, incidentally, enjoys vampire movies – more for the hot chicks than the horror) took out the DVD of Twilight one night (!!!! – I know!!) After one viewing, I was HOOKED. Seriously, 100% ADDICTED. I think I fell in love that night. And there was the internet and literally thousands upon thousands of photos of this beautiful young man. After picking through a few ‘fan’ websites (which made me cringe a bit, to be honest – I’m like SO not a teenager anymore!) I found RPAU. My ‘drug’ habit had found a faithful and reliable ‘dealer’. And I never wanna go to rehab – no no no!
