Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Rob & Guy together. I really hope we get to see more from this interview.

Questions:
1 – Rob describing his concept of “fans” (note from me Rob, we do like YOU – Michelle)
2 – Rob responding to whether or not he is proud of the movie The Rover
3 – Guy and Rob joking about their relationship after working together on the film The Rover
Rob is in totally denial about his fans. I kinda like this. He can’t pander to an audience he doesn’t admit exists. So us make believe people can expect more of the unexpected, more of the edgy, more of the challenge. Yay!
Shit. Does he REALLY think that I’d fly interstate, stand in bloody torrential rain for hours and hours, doped high on medication, to have a 10 second chat, then swear it was worth it …… for just ANYONE?!!!!!! AT MY AGE?!!!!! *giggles*
Yep, @Carmel, let’s go with DENIAL. But, just for the record, “Rob, we like YOU.”
Haha @Sue I think that’s another one of those porky’s Rob’s becoming famous for!
Agree @Carmel he’s in denial. I think he side-eyed me when I said – that’s what your fans want to know. I was ruining his bubble!
I second what Michelle said: “Rob, we DO like you, and yes, I will go and see a film just because you’re in it.” And as Sue says, I don’t do it for anyone else, especially at my age. What’s really surprising (apart from the incomprehensible ‘at my age’ thing) is that Rob watching has led me to see films I wouldn’t normally have gone to see. Because of him, I’ve delved into the fascinating world of David Cronenberg films. I’ve been drawn to YA literature (again incomprehensible due to my age) because of his presence in the Twi series. This in turn inspired me to pursue writing YA novels myself and frankly, my life has been enriched and refreshed just by his youthful presence. It’s taken years off my life (my mental life, alas, not my physical one) and it’s been such a ride that I don’t want it to stop. So, Rob, give credit where it’s due. Pat yourself on the back – we love you. Deal with it!
You’re writing Trish? I’d love to read.
Haha @Trish. Hey, it looks like you’ve just ‘outed’ yourself. Now it’s time to spill. Go on. We need something to read while we wait for Nick’s 3rd book. *no pressure there*
Uh, oh… please let me stress UNPUBLISHED and YA. About three people have read my first one and none of them liked it, so be careful what you wish for! I’ve still got my ‘learner’ plates on and I’m terrified of going on the road still. Admittedly, Rob was my muse for my main character in a planned series but I got all paranoid after the lack of enthusiasm for the first one and kind of gave up on it. Spineless, I know. If I feel brave enough, I’ll make it available on PDF for anyone who wants to torture themselves reading YA romance by a wanna-be writer.
Ah, Trish, you had me at “Rob was my muse …..” Oh, and I HAVE been known to love me some YA romance torture LOL
Remember @Trish it took 10 years and numerous drafts for David to write Animal Kingdom. Never give up and if it’s a dream work and go for it.
I once dreamed of meeting Rob …
@Trish – Believe me, you have found your audience in Sue.
Lovely words @Maria. Wise and lovely.
