I just love this little review & the praise that Karen Krizanovich gives to Rob.   Makes me so happy to see someone actually giving him a chance instead of just writing him off before they’ve even seen the film.  Cannot express how much that frustrates me – preaching to the choir I know.  Here’s what Karen had to say about Rob & the film: (Bolded parts of course – my emphasis.)

It’s pretty daring to take Robert Pattinson, the most fanciable young actor of his generation, and cast him alongside actresses of the calibre of Kristin Scott Thomas, Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci. But it’s a risk that pays off here as his performance takes this retelling of Guy de Maupassant’s tale of sex and ambition to another level. As thrilling as it is sumptuous, the first feature from theatre directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod brings Paris at the turn of the 20th century to vibrant life, as handsome, brutish social climber Georges Duroy (Pattinson) plunders and blunders his way around the women of powerful men. The stunning production design frames Duroy’s amorality as it unfolds like a rotten flower, and Pattinson has never looked more irresistible or dangerous. Thurman, especially, is a revelation – literally finding a new quality to her voice as the influential and wealthy Madeleine Forestier. A hauntingly beautiful triumph of content over style, this is Dangerous Liaisons meets Cruel Intentions with extra added credibility.

You’re very welcome for the link Michelle!! Thanks so much for posting 🙂 It’s such a great review – and I couldn’t agree more with the ‘Pattinson has never looked more irresistible or dangerous’. Oh my – so, SO true. 🙂

I was so happy (and lucky, I know) to see Georges in action again today and honestly he improves!! LOL Who knew that would be possible but there you go. And it’s definitely one of those films you see new things each time you view it – there’s just so much to take in. Can’t wait for you all to see it!! 🙂

Great review, but this countdown is now killing me! …..73 days is 73 days too long, I’m devouring ANY footage of BA like I’ve gone a little crazy! (Is it just me?) So, so lucky, Jules, getting to see Georges again (and again and again) …… can you drool a little for me, too, next time, please?

    Thanks for posting Michelle.
