Thanks to flautapantera from rpattzdaily who emailed the producer of The Summer House, we now have the following info:

“The film is doing a festival circuit & will be released on iTunes & DVD  around October 2010″

How awesome is this news.  Fingers crossed this definitely eventuates.  We have been waiting so long to see Rob in the role of Richard.  The thought of being able to purchase this short film on DVD later this year is so exciting.  When more details emerge we will of course post.

Yep great news, but what is a festival circuit exactly though?

  • Michelle

@Jan – a festival circuit means the film will be screened at various film festivals before it is released on DVD. So so good to have the release month announced & it’s my birthday month too 😀

LOL Sare, I was thinking the same thing about a countdown. I think we may make the countdowns a regular thing – love them 😀

@Jan it’s film festivals – like Cannes, Rome, Sundance etc – ok they are the larger ones, but there are smaller indie festivals as well. Often films are shown here first to get distribution etc, altho I thought they had already gone down that path last year. There was rumour that it was to be shown at Cannes, but I can’t remember if that eventuated.

Its like a premiere then right?
But what happens if it dont make it on DVD, Im sure there’s many movies that just dont make it out there.
For crying out loud its 14 minutes why are we waiting so long.
Is it because Rob name is on it?
    stupid me sex sells
and no i have’nt been drinking
    ,just confused 🙂

@Jan – no it’s not like a premiere – much more low key and usually film festivals are used to sell the product, get distributors or merely put it out there to the industry. Um this movie has been around for a lot longer than most of Rob’s fans – just because Rob is tied to it – doesn’t mean anything and perhaps the people behind it don’t want the hype. There are other people in that film not just Rob. I’m pretty sure it’s going to make it on DVD – as I have said in previous posts – my understanding was that the DVD might be sold with the book. If not then we will just have to buy off iTunes – and I’m happy to do that since we’ve waited for it for almost 2 years another 8 months isn’t going to kill us – is it?

well 32 days to go til RM, and that wait is killing me.

We just may see it on SBS before to long ? Hopefully.

@Jan – when you say ‘we may see it on SBS’ do you mean The Summer House? Cause no, that’s not gonna happen anytime soon. We’ll either be able to purchase via iTunes or buy on DVD 😀

Yep Jan, we will just have to be patient. Everything Rob related is always well & truly worth the wait 😀
