Here’s a little clip from Access Hollywood where Brooke talks about saving Rob from drunk fans who were starting to harass him.  Brooke – you go girl – it’s bad enough that Rob is stalked and hounded wherever he goes by “screaming fangirls” and occasionally their mothers, but seriously can’t the guy just go and enjoy a beer after a hard day’s work – he’ so gracious and doesn’t deserve this!  Sorry, but they are starting to wear a little thin (and I haven’t had my morning coffee yet).  Thanks to our affiliate Spunk Ransom for the clip.

Looks like today is shaping up to be another ‘Little Ashes Wednesday’. Here is a beautiful ‘Little Ashes’ fan video, made by Victoria. We have posted one of her videos before and I am a huge fan of them. She really knows Dali & Lorca very well and she definitely has an incredible talent in making videos. This time, she dedicates this video to the team behind the Little Ashes Promo Blitz.

If you love this video, please check out all her other videos at her YouTube channel here

Matthew McNutly (who is really really lovely -and I can’t exaggerate that point enough), talks to Digital Spy about Little Ashes and Rob’s role as Salvador Dali. Here is a snippet from the article:

Were you a fan of Dalí and Buñuel before you took the part in the film?
“No, I wouldn’t say I was a fan. I knew of their work – more so Buñuel. I did a module at university of some of his films. I appreciate his work, I think he’s a fantastic director, but I didn’t know anything of Dalí and Buñuel the people, so this film and this script was an eye-opener in that sense for me.”

Do you think Dalí and surrealism in general needs rescuing from its “zany” student poster reputation?
“I think so, and this film will definitely do that. A lot of people who will see this film because of Rob Pattinson will be able to form their own opinions of surrealism. It’ll be a fresh opinion and not one that’s been developed through the elements that have been ridiculed in the surrealist movement. The course of surrealism did possibly last a bit too long and the central ideals were kind of watered down, so hopefully from this film people will research into it and know more about those ideals.”

Do you think there’s a risk that the merit of the film will be overshadowed by Pattinson’s nude and love scenes?
“Possibly to people that haven’t seen the film, but I’m not really bothered about that. If people want to judge it before they’ve actually seen it and judge it on the fact that there’s a teen heartthrob playing the lead then that’s more fool them. I think that the film has got merit of its own through its writing and the cinematography. Hopefully word of mouth will dispel any of that.”

Good morning everyone, I’ve been debating on whether or not to post this clip, but it is really too good not to share. This is the scene where Dali and Lorca kissed. It is quite graphic, but done very very beautifully. And if by now, you’re not convinced that ‘Little Ashes‘ is a really good movie – this clip would show that the filmmakers (and actors) are doing a great job making this scene both intimate and very artistic.

Please be aware that this is an R-rated clip.

Just a little reminder that voting for the inaugural “Pic of the Month” closes next Tuesday 12 May at 6.00 pm (or thereabouts).  So there’s still time to pick your favourite of the 3 photos above by either voting here or through the widget on the main page.    And for those of us who can’t decide, it lets you vote for each photo once, but you can’t cheat and vote for your favourite multiple times – believe me I’ve tried.

Amanda Bell of The Examiner has let us know (well not me personally, but I did get a group email) that Rob has been nominated for “Breakthrough Performance Male” at this year’s MTV Movie Awards.  Now I’m not sure how many years Rob can win the “breakthrough” award – clearly he broke through last year, but he’s up against the likes of Ben Barnes, Dev Patel and of course, Taylor Lautner.

Rob has also been nominated in two other categories thanks to Twilight – “Best Kiss”, but that’s not a surprise is it and “Best Fight” – you get him Rob – Cam deserved it anyway.  Iwas going to provide a link for Amanda’s article , but she has proven to me that she’s a tad lazy with her research considering she thinks Rob is up against Zefron, Shia LeBoofhead and Robert Downey Jr (sorry have a soft spot for Rob Jr – must be the name).

So if you want to appreciate Rob walking down the red carpet (like the above gif – because who could resist) – show your support by registering your votes for all three here.   You need to sign up, but it doesn’t take very long (trust me).  Voting closes on 27 May 2009  since the awards are being shown live in the US on 31 May 2009 (apparently they will be seen on MTV Australia at 4.00 pm on 1 June 2009, with an encore performance at 7.30 pm (for those of us who work).  If this changes I will let you know).
