According to an article from ThaindianNews, Unbound Captives, will begin filming at the end of this year on locations in both New Zealand (so so close to us) & New Mexico. The article also mentions that the film’s budget will be $90 million & will be the film’s producer Ashok Amritraj’s biggest venture to date.  Ashok also mentions that the film will be ready for release by the end of 2010.

I am so very excited about this film & cannot wait to see Rob in this role as Phineas. Sounds like it is going to be something very different for him.  Is going to be amazing for sure.

Our affiliate, Pattinson Anonymous has a source who is able to to tell us a bit more on Rob’s role in ‘Unbound Captives’.  They’re asking you to please note that there’s no confirmation from anyone on Rob’s team that he’s signed on for this project, (although Variety is usually accurate with their information).

Here is a short snippet  on Rob’s role in ‘Unbound Captives’.

Character Name:  PHINEAS

Age: The character is shown first at age 10, then again at approximately 17

  • As indicated in information published on the internet, Phineas was kidnapped as a child and assimilated in a Comanche tribe.
  • Phineas (all descriptions here are of the character at age 17) is described as having long hair and pierced ears, presumably in the 19th-century Comanche style.
  • Virtually all of his lines are in Comanche.
  • The character’s Comanche name is Tsomo, which means “bead”.
  • Yes, he rides a horse…bareback.  He rides quite a bit, actually.

Well it’s my turn this week to share one of my favourite videos of Rob with you.  There are so so many to choose from, but I love the Cine Premiere interview from Mexico last October.  (I bet you thought I was going to post Rob in Rome, well then it won’t come as a shock that this interview was actually done the week before Rome – lol – Cilla and Michelle I can see you both shaking your heads already).

This video has all of my favourite Rob quirks – when he says “what” and gives the look, hand running through hair, eyebrowing rubbing, hydration – yes, he loves his Coke and water, and most importantly the honsesty that we find so endearing (I dont think we have seen Rob this animated of late and I know we all miss that).  It’s great when he talks about his role as Dali and how it changed the way he researches and looks at scripts and his comment that “it will probably never get released”  – well some of the distributors have been trying to fulfil that for you Rob.  Then there is the evidence right at the end that Rob really can’t lie – when he says “my life is not under my control’ and laughs, but then notice the look on his face and his comments when he realises how true that is – he is such an open book.  And sorry about the annoying woman translating, but it couldn’t be helped.

Rob’s IMDb page finally lists Unbound Captives as in “pre-production”.  I see that John Toll has also been confirmed as the cinematographer – now considering he did Legends of the Fall (so he definitely has the epic/western experience) and Braveheart (he won back to back Oscars for both these films – one of only 2 cinematographers to do so) – can things get any more exciting about this film.

I understand that there may also be some confusion about Rob’s role and whether he is the son of Rachel Weisz or Hugh Jackman.  He is definitely playing Rachel’s son and his character’s name is ….

Don’t be nervous Rob – I promise I won’t reveal any details yet.  Stay tuned.

According to ‘Comme au Cinema‘, Rob will be in Cannes this following Tuesday, the 19th of May. Thanks to Seren Dipity, here’s a translation of the article:

Robert Pattinson will be in Cannes on Tuesday !!

Oh my God, my fingers are shaking and my heart is racing : Safe sources have just announced that Robert Pattinson – THE Robert Pattinson who dazzles the whole planet since he shows his fangs in Twilight – will be in Cannes on Tuesday, the 19th !! He will also appear on Canal + TV show “Grand Journal” and will climb the famous Steps !

Riots, landslides and trucks of tissues are already expected because it is gonna be a huge storm – what am I saying – a Pattinson tsunami which is going to reach Cannes next week. You are not already there ? Never mind,  don’t panic, rent a car, jump on a train or take a plane and for you we will reserve a little place to see the most beautiful vampire on Earth. It might even make us forget that Brad Pitt is climbing the famous steps the day after…

Javier talks to Terra about ‘Little Ashes’. Here is a segment on what he said about Rob (including what it’s like to kiss him).

People can’t stop talking about the sex scenes you share with your costar, ‘Twilight’ heartthrob Rob Pattinson. Were they difficult to do?

No. It was not uncomfortable. The hard part was to transmit the emotions of my character. That was the challenge. But the scenes came out really well. I am very proud of this film. I would love for people to see this movie, because it’s a very good movie.

Millions of girls want to know what it feels like to make out with Rob Pattinson-tell us, is he a good kisser?

(Laughs). He’s okay. He’s good.

A lot of people are calling this a ‘gay’ film. Do you agree that it is?

It’s not just that. But I like that people are talking about the movie. I also think that Rob’s success with ‘Twilight’ will make people see this movie, and if they want to see Rob, that’s great, because they’ll see the film too. He does a splendid and wonderful job as Dali.
