Weekly update of all career news for Robert Pattinson
The Cannes goodness continues this week. And when I mean goodness I mean spectacular photos of Robert.  GOOD TIME:  The interviews are still trickling through as are some amazing photos of Robert in Cannes.  Wow the photoshoot for the NYTimes – we didn’t have to wait too long for those beauties in HQ. Thanks Posh. The Safdie Brothers have given some great interviews as well giving us more insight into the filming and storyline.  I found a little snippet of Robert on the red carpet and I know Vertigo will love that they shot Robert from behind. Greece, Portugal and South Korea have distributors whilst Hong Kong has a release date. Thanks to Posh again we have the Gala France cover untagged and more HQ goodness added to the photocall, press conference and red carpet photos. DIOR HOMME CANNES:  Although Robert posed for these photos during GOOD TIME promo, Dior made sure they got their moneys worth with some great new pics of Robert in Cannes. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  China has a new theatrical poster and treated us to a new character poster for Henry Costin which I love love love. Australia I don’t love – release pushed back to 24 August 2017. Italy is luckier, we finally have the dates on which Biografilm Film Festival will screen the film in June. IN OTHER NEWS: OPN won Cannes soundtrack award for Good Time. I almost fell off my chair when I saw Peter Bradshaw from The Guardian say Robert should have won the Best Actor in Cannes. Oscar Boyson celebrated his birthday in Cannes whilst reading Gala with Robert on the cover. DiorRob is back in Sydney at the King Street boutique. I get to see him every day … almost. THR voted Robert their best actor in Cannes. Thanks to Posh again we have the English version of Crash Magazine. Indiewire’s podcast discussing life after Cannes had some fabulous things to say about Robert’s performance in GOOD TIME – mainly that he was fantastic and some early Oscar buzz. I think I’ll wait to see what happens with Oscar noms before I go off on any tangent. Thanks to the lovely Jules Mr June is up. COMING UP NEXT WEEK: The Lost City of Z is released in Greece on 8 June 2017.  Can’t wait to see what goodies might turn up next week.  Until then.

Weekly update of all career news for Robert Pattinson
Cannes wasn’t just an amazing experience to watch, but Robert also gave us the most incredible news – he’s working on another project with David Michôd and a film with Ciro Guerra. We already knew about Antonio Campos and Claire Denis. So how many projects are up his sleeve now – Denis, Hogg, Campos, Michôd and Guerra. Not to mention he is also supposed to be working with Mona Fastvold – and if they ever happen Assayas and Korine (still holding out hope – look how long it took for them to make The Lost City of Z). Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in another Safdie Bros film either (although we know it won’t be Uncut Gems). Anyway this week’s wrap up might look like there isn’t a lot, but there was so much goodness out of Cannes that I’m just linking the Masterpost below.  GOOD TIME:  Josh Safdie posted a BTS photo from Good Time with Buddy Duress to celebrate Buddy’s birthday. By the way I did not realise that A24 is also releasing the film in the UK.  Josh mentioned it in a comment on the poster thread on his instagram.  Lucky Parisians had a screening of Good Time on Saturday night.  The toilet talk – was hoping we would get the full story. Josh and Benny also spoke with ScreenDaily about Robert’s performance – I can’t even begin to tell you how much I need to see this film given that they’ve compared him to Al Pacino in Dog Day Afternoon. That is seriously one of my top 5 films. It’s funny because the trailer made me feel like I was watching a 70’s classic. I wonder if we will get Good Time before The Lost City of Z.  Cannes – as I said above, check out the Masterpost for all the Cannes goodness. It’s impossible for me to link every single tweet I retweeted praising Robert’s performance, but I swear there is less than a handful who didn’t see what everyone else did and that is the performance of Robert’s career.  I’m not going to talk Oscar awards buzz because I always feel that is a bit premature - so let’s just focus on what award MIGHT be possible and that’s Best Actor at Cannes. It will be announced around 7.15 pm Sunday (which is around 3.15 am Monday morning – so hopefully I wake up to some amazing news).  Fingers crossed for Robert, but even if he doesn’t win Best Actor – he won Cannes because you can’t really buy the buzz that the Safdies and Robert have created. IN OTHER NEWS:  If you are in NY on 2 June make sure you go to Metrograph to appreciate one of Claire Denis’ films on the big screen. COMING UP NEXT WEEK: The Lost City of Z is being released in Brazil, Argentina and Colombia on 1 June 2017 and Taiwan, China and Estonia on 2 June 2017. It was supposed to be released in the Philippines on 31 May, but it’s disappeared off the radar and I’m getting radio silence. Stay tuned though – surely it will turn up eventually. And I know it’s early days, but I’ve set up a film page for The Souvenir where I will add all relevant information – in case you want to bookmark. See you next Sunday.

What a week:  New Trailer | New Photoshoot | New Project. Jules has provided us with a Cannes themed Week in Review edit which I love, but she’s also given us the non-Cannes treated version. I couldn’t decide so I’m posting both versions. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  More release dates – China, Trinidad, Vietnam (who also gave us a poster).  Date changes – New Zealand looks like they are pushing back their release until September, although if you are fortunate enough to attend NZFF you can see it in July. Italy finally got a dubbed trailer. GOOD TIME:  The poster has officially been released, the trailer has officially been released, it’s getting some great feedback and well it’s in competition in Cannes next week. I’m still watching the trailer on loop. What an amazing ride. Sorry but everyone was waiting for the perm and we got shaggy blonde Rob instead. The Cannes opening ceremony treated us to a new little snippet. Not sure if Carmel weakened for that. I did a wrap up of the initial reactions to the trailer. France has decided to push back it’s release, by about 3 weeks. Japan has a distributor, as does Canada and it looks like Ascot Elite really is the distributor for Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. CRASH MAGAZINE:  Well we knew there was a new photoshoot in the wings and thankfully we didn’t have to wait very long. It’s phenomenal. THE SOUVENIR:  Robert has a new film in which he will be the lead, but won’t film until summer of 2018. Martin Scorsese is producing. IN OTHER NEWS: Paris Filme confirmed they would release GOOD TIME in Brazil with title name and release date to be determined soon. Cole Henry tweeted “Robert Pattinson has blossomed into one of the best actors working today. Watch The Rover if you don’t believe me.” I couldn’t agree with you more. Indiewire gave us a look at the camera and a little backstory that was used to film GOOD TIME by Sean Price Williams. Erik Kohn from Indiewire also think Robert “could be a strong contender for the festival’s acting prize.”Josh Safdie is in Cannes and tweeted a billboard/poster of GOOD TIME that’s situate on one of the Cannes rooftops. COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  Thailand and India release The Lost City of Z, and we get Robert at Cannes for the premiere of GOOD TIME. I better rest up in the lead up since Robert is doing the press junket with Josh and Benny. I have a feeling this is going to be wild. See you next week.

Weekly update of all career news for Robert Pattinson
We celebrated Robert’s birthday yesterday. How is he 31 already – it feels like yesterday that this 21 year old was filming Little Ashes and How To Be. Time flies they say … and it looks like we’re getting a present on Tuesday (or possibly Wednesday our time). GOOD TIME: The lucky fans in the US will see Good Time before we even see The Lost City of Z (still gutted it somehow missed the cut of the Sydney Film Festival). Brazil however may not get the film until mid April/May 2018. We did get 2 new stills of Connie Nikas and the promise of a trailer. I’m so ready. Some may have seen the theatrical poster – I thought A24 had gone live, they hadn’t – so I’ve deleted the post – but The Film Stage has tweeted so take a look. Don’t know if they have received that officially since it’s all over the internet.  All in GOOD TIME though – we will no doubt see what they want us all to see on Tuesday including official social media. How about those great BTS photos thanks to American Liberty Bail Bonds. I couldn’t believe they’ve been on the internet since April and noone had found them. PAW shared a great interview in Cahier du Cinema which gives us the most information about the film to date.I’m sure I’m not the only person googling Japanese toilets. THE LOST CITY OF Z: Gorgeous photo of Robert talking to James Gray. Estonia finally got on board and is releasing the film. Argentina brought their release date forward and lucky Kiwis will see the film as part of the New Zealand International Film Festival in July/August. Cinemania Spain did a little feature in their May issue as did American Cinematrographer.  Thanks Posh. DIOR: Love the pic used in L’Uomo Vogue. HIGH LIFE: PAW again shared Cahier du Cinema’s interview with Claire Denis who had some great words about Robert. IN OTHER NEWS: I came across a great comment from We Are Movie Geeks about Robert “Anchored by a career-defining performance from Robert Pattinson, GOOD TIME is a psychotic symphony of propulsive intensity crafted by two of the most exciting young directors working today.” *clapshands*.  CineArt have also updated their website confirming the 14 September 2017 release date in the Netherlands. Suze spoilt us with some Rover reminiscing and a wonderful tribute for Robert’s birthday. GQ Style USA gave us some lovely Robert quotes about A24. And Vertigo teased you all with some hard choices for the June choice of 12 Months of Robert. COMING UP NEXT WEEK: The Netherlands can watch Life on Film1, Japan is releasing The Childhood of a Leader on Bluray/DVD on 17 May 2107 and we’re finally getting a Good Time trailer.  See you next week!

Weekly update of all career news for Robert Pattinson
Slightly quieter week this week. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  So many new release dates for theatrical and DVD/Bluray.  I think there might also be some new footage in that Philippines trailer.  Also love that it’s still being included at film festivals *hintSydneyhint*. Fotogramas included a feature in their lead up to release this week. DIOR:  More advertisements in mags thanks to Posh. GOOD TIME: Gala premiere on 25 May – check.  Now we just need confirmation of the time for the photocall and press conference which hopefully will be similar times to when The Rover was on 3 years ago … that is around 9.15pm Sydney time on Thursday night. I love that Robert’s doing press with the Safdie Bros – there should be round table and TV interviews as well.  Although no Le Grand Journal – I believe that show had it’s last episode in March this year. Brazil has come to the party to distribute the film. IN OTHER NEWS: Jules’ Dior desktop wallpaper is just stunning as is her new banner for us to celebrate Good Time at Cannes. Suze surprised us with a classic Robert interview from Cannes 2012 as a throwback and I shared some great moments when we first saw Robert in person at the Sydney Water for Elephants premiere. COMING UP NEXT WEEK: The Lost City of Z will be released in the Ukraine and India.  Don’t forget Melbournians you will have the exclusive run of The Childhood of a Leader at ACMI from 11 to 18 May 2017. See you next week as we head towards the announcements on Wednesday of which films will be at this year’s Sydney Film Festival #praying# #thelostcityofZ# #goodtime#.

Well the surprises continued this week. DAMSEL:  Robert confirmed on the soundtrack. Can’t wait to hear “Honeybun”. DIOR:  Another week and more fabulous magazine advertisements – this time Australia, Singapore & the UK. Posh also found the pics in UHQ. My fave three letters after ROB. GOOD TIME: I admit I had forgotten that soundtracks to films nominated for Palme d’OR are also in competition. Lucky Posh is on top of it all. Also, France has now confirmed it’s theatrical release for the film in September. The Safdies added 2 gifs featuring Robert to Elara’s website. Pretty cool. THE LOST CITY OF Z: Thanks Posh for the digital print and translation of Robert’s interview that appeared in Metro Moscow. *Cries* France & the US is getting the DVD before we even see it in cinemas. I’m so not used to us being last. In case you missed our tweet about The Silver Screen Nerd’s excitement in his video review about Robert’s performance, I’ve added it to the reviews post, which has also been updated.  IN OTHER NEWS: FilmSchoolRejects did a fabulous write up about Robert’s career.  Can’t believe they actually mentioned The Haunted Airman. Myrna Suarez shared her New York FF portrait – c’mon Myrna we know there must be some outtakes. Robert turned up to celebrate Jaime King’s birthday. Is it bad that I don’t really know who she is. COMING UP NEXT WEEK: The Lost City of Z will be released in French-speaking Switzerland, Spain and Portugal.  The Met Gala is tomorrow 1 May 2017 – will be interesting to see if Robert makes an appearance again this year. Guess we won’t have to wait long to find out. Until next week.
