Before I get into the thick of things with my little editorial there’s one burning question I want to find the answer to.  Where the hell is the footage of Rob and Guy jamming on The Rover set because there is no way that moment wasn’t filmed by someone.  Okay now that I’ve got that off my chest.  Let me just say HAPPY NEW YEAR.  Firstly, let me congratulate Jan B Breesmom for winning The Rover Soundtrack from our giveaway.  Love it when we’re given things to share with Rob fans.  We had a few little insights into Rob’s upcoming film roles.  Dede Gardner made me a little nervous about Lost City of Z – it’s starting to remind me of Unbound Captives with dates being pushed back etc, but at least with this one Rob won’t be pushed out due to age.  We found out a little bit more about Rob’s character in The Childhood of A Leader – a friend of the family huh.   Rob told us that he likes to make “high brow” films but watches low brow ones like Deuce Bigalow and Beavis & Butthead lol.  We shared our favourite moments of Rob during 2014 – loved everyones input in that, and I spent a little time putting together a vid for us to the tune of Uptown Funk.  Jules created our first banner for 2015 and included all of Rob’s amazing moments for 2014.  Let’s pray that we can recreate some of that in 2015.  We had a few stills of Rob as Edward – why weren’t these unleashed then.  My recollection is that we hardly had any solo Rob from Breaking Dawn.  Maps and The Rover are still being listed on people’s “best of” lists and it looks like German and UK fans will be getting the MttS DVD just slightly ahead of us Aussies.  I came across some older “tagged” photos and vids of Rob we hadn’t posted before.  Somehow quiet times seem to be getting busier posting wise as they give us time to search for little treasures.  Let’s see what next week unleashes.  I have a feeling we might get some movie news … just putting it out there.  Note:  Rhonda let us know that Jules’ calendar was up on eBay for sale for $59.99.  Please know that we would never endorse anyone taking Jules’ creations and selling them to Rob’s fans.  The calendar is available to download for free.  Although my personal photo from inside the State Theatre has been has withdrawn, the calendar is still live.  Shameful.  Just know the reason we don’t advertise on or ask anyone for money to run this site is because it’s our choice to do it and we would NEVER use Rob to make any form of financial profit.

I hope everyone had a Christmas filled with love and laughter.  As we head into the pointy end of 2014, it’s hard not to reflect on what a fabulous year it’s been.  Of course, it’s had it’s up and downs, but for me it’s had so many wonderful Rob memories, some of which I’ve shared with all of you, it’s definitely going to be difficult to outdo 2014 when it comes to me and Rob.  Wow it’s been a busy week surprisingly.  We had some cool updates re Lost City of Z and some disconcerting ones *looksatDedeGardner”.  We now know that Rob will indeed be portraying Henry Costin and that Sienna Miller has definitely joined the cast to play Fawcett’s wife.  On my search for confirmation of 2015 international release dates for Maps to the Stars, I came across a new still of Rob and Mia Wasikowska (love that scene) and I also found that Focus Features had a completely new theatrical poster for Maps on their website.  Sneaky sneaky.  Not sure if that is the one they will go with when it’s released in the  US in February, but how freakin cool is it.  I really did do a doubletake to make sure it wasn’t one Jules had created.  No lie.  And speaking of Jules – words cannot express our gratitude for that amazeballs 2015 “12 Months of Rob” calendar she created for everyone.  This girl should seriously be employed by Rob to do all promotional graphics.  I know she’s definitely inspired others to create similar works of art, but there’s only one Jules and thank God she’s part of RPAU.  Rob talked about The Rover and Life with Huffington Post.  The gorgeous Jerome stills kept on coming.  Those treasures should never have been buried for as long as they had.  Can’t wait to see what 2015 will bring and saying that, next time I’m chattering on our week in review it will be 2015!  And you know what that means – we’re closer to seeing Rob as TE Lawrence and Dennis Stock on the big screen.   Yowza.  So to end this fabulous Rob year we at RPAU wish everyone a safe and happy start to 2015 and if you’re going out partying to ring in the New Year remember Edward’s wise words “Be Safe” – bwah bet you never thought I’d be quoting Eddie.

I guess I put out the challenge for December last week and it sure as hell didn’t disappoint.  Rob’s first nomination for a legit award is Australian for an Australian film.  It doesn’t get better than that for us Aussies.  It may not be an Oscar, but it is Australia’s equivalent so pardon me whilst I spin like a dervish.  How good does that little picture look in my collage.  Rob just needs to move here since we Aussies obviously don’t mind acknowledging and celebrating his achievements.  And it’s about bloody time Rob, David, Guy and The Rover achieved some serious recognition.   Of course Maps to the Stars seems to also be having a limited run in LA and although we thought it was for the Oscars for Julianne it looks like it’s a push for the Globes for her instead.  So weird considering what a great reaction it had in Cannes.  Hopefully we get Golden Globes Rob again.  Fingers crossed.   Jules spoilt us with the sexiest walk down memory lane with that Christmas Details wallpaper *fansself* and we were surprised with a new portrait from Cannes 2014.  I know there is more gold out there – what are you all waiting for “sharing is caring”.  We ended the week with a tease of the Life trailer “coming soon”.  I bloody well hope so it feels like an eternity that it was filmed.  Although I’m not complaining because how long did we wait for The Rover and look how that turned out  Bloody brilliant.  Until next week …

Here we are again … except this week we had one of those Rob surprises that I, and I’m sure all of you, just love.  Rob playing guitar on a Death Grips’ track from 2013.  Oh yeah baby – nice surprise Rob.  I mean do we really need to relive anything else this week?  Oh I spent hours researching who the hell Rob’s character may be on The Childhood of A Leader and well I really think Rob’s character might be fictitious.  It’s a quandry since Brady seems to want to play us lol.  Not that I blame him because I”ve decided that I much prefer going into Rob films without spoilers (taking a leaf out of Carmel’s book who I watched Maps with and loved her reactions).  Oh wait there was something else to twirl about – Cassian Elwes tweet about Queen of the Desert.  Bring on 2015.   Also Anton Corbijn talked about post production on LIFE and I saw the German distributors were hinting that the movie may be released to coincide with the 60th anniversary of James Dean’s death.  That’s a nice touch but I don’t know if I want to wait until 30 September!  Jules surprised us with her new technique on her edits – am loving the darkness and light.  I really think you should continue experimenting Jules especially if that’s your first attempt *fansself*.  We had a little fun with our A-Z and Michelle spoilt us with her black and white montage.  Nice little way to end November.  Now Rob what surprises do you have for us in December?   Bring it on Rob bring it on …

Don’t forget if you miss any of the weeks they’re all listed in our Master Posts tab under RPAU Week in Review.

It’s Sunday and time for our RPAU Week in Review.  Maps to the Stars started its limited release in Sydney and Melbourne on Thursday (20 November 2014) and shock horror, Margaret & David from ABC At The Movies, in their 3rd last show, actually gave it 3.5 and 4.0 stars respectively.  eOneANZ also has a great competition to win a MTTS/Cronenberg prize pack – hope you’ve entered.  Jules treated us with some of her epic edits.  That girl sure has talent – just look at her little promo at the end of this post.  Love it.  We’ve reminisced with some hirsute Rob, vintage Rob and GoGolicious Rob.  Brady Corbet gave us a little more insight into what’s happening with The Childhood of A Leader, but he is playing his cards very very close to his chest regarding Rob’s character.  I had a few hunches, but I went back and revisited some of the interviews Brady’s given and realised I was so way off track.  You can see some of Brady’s quotes in the comment section on the TCoAL post.  It’s hopefully starting to film in January 2015.  Benedict came out to play too re Lost City of Z saying that it should start filming March/April I’m guesing.  2015 doesn’t seem so far away now and we still have Life and Queen of the Desert to quench our cinematic thirsts.

This is something we’ve been talking about doing for some time.  We’ve finally got our acts together and decided to unleash tonight.  We know with busy lives not allof you get the opportunity to visit the site every day, so we thought we would make it easier for those of you to catch up with what’s been posted during the week, whether it be Rob’s impromptu appearances at events, filming, RPAU’s A-Z Appreciation etc etc.  You get the gist.  So we’ve stopped procrastinating and here’s our first week in review.  We’re in the process of placing a widget on the sidebar for ease too so stay tuned.  And if you miss a few weeks, don’t worry all “RPAU Week in Reviews” will be posted at our Master Posts here.
